The craft ideas don't measure up to the quality and originality available on craft blogs and through places like Flickr, Etsy, Ravelry etc. And other craft books.
It's a dandy package, pattern pieces and vintage-vibe book/page design/photography and golly-gosh breathlessly-girlish prose style. But it's like that's all trying to distract you from the craft designs.
I doubt I'll buy another in this series. I've been crafting since childhood, more expertly at some crafts than others and I've made nothing from any of these books, and have been exasperated more often than delighted.
If you've never done any craft, you may find these books fresh and new.
I was also hugely disappointed that the author recently asked her blog readers (hardly likely to be an 'unhappy' campers or an unbiased group), to add to the reviews here, as there were some 'unhappy' ones here. Poor form, IMHO. Thus the final choice of one star.
