As I live in Mallorca I felt it was time to learn about the country I have decided to live in! This book gives you various accounts of life by describing the culture, the people, the places along with some very typical Mallorcian recipes for good measure! It's based on the country of Mallorca not just the tourist place that most people consider it to be. Well worth purchasing!

I use this book as my guide to where I will visit on the Island each year; it's a wonderfully fascinating guide & read. My only complaint (if you can call it that) is that I could now do with another copy to take with me each year, preferably in paperback. One of my prized possessions, a must for anyone wishing to explore the "REAL MALLORCA"

Fabulous book, it sums up the island beautifully. We even purchased copies for our Mallorcan friends, who recognised some of the people in the photographs.Excellent book for learning about Mallorca and getting away from the hype of its tourist reputation. Buy it just for the pictures. Its not the sort of book you might read it from cover to cover in one go, but great for dipping into the different areas of the island as and when you want to. Lovely island, lovely book!
