Plugged my ipod touch in and it seemed to work for a minute. Then a hissing noise from the plug, the plug got very hot and now I can't switch my Ipod on. It's going straight back but I'm very worried about my iPod.

Unlike the amazon pictures this item is a counterfeit item - please see the images I have added.
The product is:
- branded Gear5 - not even Apple branding
- has what appears to be hand painted white on the plug
It's nothing close to the genuine product as shown in the Amazon images. I purchased the item from Box Ltd and have requested a full refund and return postage. I've also flagged it with Amazon as I feel the product should be marked as a Gear5 or replica of the apple charger.
Buy at your own peril - it seems to be an issue with some of the amazon marketplace merchants. I guess lesson is to always buy from Amazon only and purchase at marketplace merchants at your own risk.

Was very disappointed to received this item and find it blew up and fused all the electrics in my office at first plug in.
After contacting the seller 2 weeks ago I am still waiting for a reply.

Overheats after first use

iPhone mains adapter / charger
This product does exactly what the iPhone and iPad plug do but at a much lower cosst and it works absolutely great.
