Product Description

Product Description

Quinoa is a type of edible seed that is harvested from grain-like crops belonging to the genus Chenopodium. Though it is not a true cereal grain, quinoa is often used in a similar manner as an ingredient in breakfast dishes, baked goods and more. The name quinoa is derived from the Spanish name for the food, kinwa. This food has been consumed by humans for over 3,000 years and it is valued for its excellent nutrient content. Unlike many cereal grains, quinoa is a good source of calcium, phosphorus and iron – it also contains several essential amino acids.

I have tried several of the dishes in this book and each one was just delicious. I was really pleased at how simple they were to prepare and used just ingredients I had on hand, except for the fresh veggies that I had to pick up. I can't believe how versatile this grain is and so easy to use! I definitely am looking forward to trying more of these great recipes. Tthis book is deflinitely worth the cost, especially for a new quinoa user like myself who needs lots of great options for adding this healthy grain to my diet.
