Book Description

Tous coupables

5.0 out of 5 stars Easier to read than I expected 20 Dec. 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I enjoyed reading Maigret in English years ago but when I have time I like to try to read in French or listen to Paris radio on the internet. I have read two of the Maigret short stories in easy French but this is "normal" but I've got along quite well. I'm enjoying the story as well as getting the satisfaction of reading in a foreign language

5.0 out of 5 stars A master of the genre 20 Feb. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This evokes the atmosphere of 50s Paris and although I wasn't much bothered by finding out whodunnit, I adored the characters and the knowledge of human nature that Simenon displays. And his French is easy to read.

These are nice little potboilers that serve mainly to improve my French reading skills. There were few twists or surprises in this one and one wonders what the main character was up to confessing his thoughts to Maigret for about one third of the book at the beginning. I won't spoil the ending by detailing the plot.

5.0 out of 5 stars MAIGRET NOVEL 2 Aug. 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase

This has proved to be easy-reading French. It is the first novel in French I have read on Kindle and find the story line interesting and the experience highly satisfactory.
