Product Description

Lions of Manhattan:

Some lions aren’t locked in the zoo.

Or roaming the Serengeti plain in Africa.

Join the Larousse brothers—Gabriel, Alexandre and Renaud, the jetset, billionaire werelions of Manhattan—in finding and claiming their mates.

Maiden and the Lion by Lizzie Lynn Lee

Book two in the Lions of Manhattan Series

Some lions in town aren’t locked in the zoo...

Twenty-one year old receptionist Beatrice Summer has the hots for her new boss, Alexandre Larousse. But Alex seems never to notice her. Bea understands. He’s too handsome, too rich, and a tad too mature for someone like her. But it doesn’t stop Bea from wanting him in secret.

One night, Bea witnesses a man being shot from a bridge. She swims after him and drags him to safety. She is shocked to find the victim is nothing but the boss she’s enamoured with. What makes it even more shocking, the unconscious Alex turns into a lion before her eyes.

Bea doesn’t think shape-shifters are real. Seriously. Werelions? They are nothing but a myth, right? Feeling more curious than a fickle cat, Bea is hell bent on spying Alex—especially when Alex tells her not to. Then, Bea discovers the reason why Mr Hot Boss pretends he never interested in getting into her panties. Bea had never thought playing detective can be so thrilling, sexy…and deadly.

About the Author:

Hello, my name is Lizzie. I’m a simple gal, love watching TV, playing guitar, and enjoying chocolate and spicy food. I have been writing as long as I can remember. Originally I want to be a horror writer, like my hero Stephen King. But I find writing smut is more fun than writing dismembered body parts. I also want to be a ninja but I heard the pay is peanut. Plus my HMO does not cover throwing star accident.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Novel. 24 Feb 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I love Lizzie Lyn Lee, her novels are amazing and so well written. She writes stories that allow you to lose yourself and you find yourself journeying along with the characters that you are reading about, you actually get a glimpse of what they are going through and can metaphoracally speaking experience everything that they do.

1.0 out of 5 stars This was terrible! 9 Mar 2013

All I am going to say is don't bother. For only the second time in my adult life I stopped reading before the end of the book! I just wanted to smack both the main characters! Most of this was simply ridiculous! Save your money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Stay Away From This 14 Jan 2013

Where to start on this? Bad ? Awful? Returned for Refund!!!

I am sorry to admit I bought this. I have bought literally hundreds of e-books and usually I simply delete the ones that do not hold my interest or past muster in the keeper bin. I thought I would try this, (because I'm a sucker for a good cover) and the opening pages seemed readable.

Then someone pulled a 180 on grammer and a believable adult conversation. (Really, did the author or an editor or anybody read the dialogue between Bea and Alex? And think yeah baby that's how to talk?!) OMG!!

I have never asked for a refund from any publisher with regard to all the books that I have EVER bought. Buyer beware and all that. I tried to delete it from my Kindle and the darn thing kept archiving it.(Since I have never had a problem with deleting from other publishers, I found this to be confusing. Is this unique to Kindle?) Sorry I am digressing . . . so I went to delete it from my Cloud, (in the hope to get it the heck out), then decided just this once, to try the refund avenue. I expected Amazon to ask for a reason and all I was able to do is to click on other.

So Amazon, I hope you are paying attention here.

I am sorry to the other reviewer, I should have trusted your rating. Most times I read the reviews and usually give them a grain or two of salt because every purchaser has a different perspective of interpretation(books, art, music, movies etc.)

Please, please read this and please please please DO NOT WASTE YOUR $$$ or time. Or you will wind up like I did and think WTH!!

If I could have given it a zero star I would have. Though the cover at least deserves some credit.

2.0 out of 5 stars OK story 14 Jan 2013
By BookChick - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition
An ok story but nothing special. Overall it was uncomplicated but the characters felt a little flat. The book also could have used a good edit. I understand that the book was written in British English but punctuation was sketchy and words were missing that should have been present.

1.0 out of 5 stars I just never learn! 15 Jan 2013
By Amazon Customer - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I too read the other reviews and thought what the heck, I just want a little mindless quick reading. Well it was mindless after all. I truly hated the female lead in this. The story was contrived and even tho it was reasonable short, I wished it was much shorter. I can't imagine any women that stupid actually existing. The so called romance went from just barely acknowledging each other to 'I love you and we are getting married, you're mine!". And the obvious holes in the plot, it was just a bunch of weak ideas barely strung together. Spoilers!!!! Oh hero is being blackmailed with pictures of a woman he hardly spoke to at work, oh woman is homeless and happens to be in a place where hero is wounded and rescues him, oh woman finds out hero is a shifter, oh woman lets herself in hero's private and secured apt to return his wallet and decides to take a shower and sleep in his bed where of course he finds her. Give me a break! I think that is the same action all of the usual bad girls who try to steal someone else's mate in so many other shifter books.

Lastly, I just hate it when the book refers to the heroine as BBW and having a few extra pound, but the cover shows a woman so skinny, her arms look like toothpicks. The author did the same on her first book too! A little consistancy would have been nice. Anyway, don't be afoolish as I was, read all the reviews and save your money.
5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyed this series 16 Feb 2014
By Amazon Customer - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition
I enjoyed this series and find some of the comments uncalled for. I read on one British writer's Facebook page, that so many Americans complained about the Britishisms in her book, that it had to be completely redone, to satisfy the arrogant Americans. My words, not hers . Makes me ashamed to think that so many find they should have it as they want it to be. A British writer has a right to write her story as she sees fit and I find the Britishisms excellent. If I don't "get" a word, I look it up. We are not all that and the arrogance is mind boggling. Makes us look like the high and mighty spoiled ones, so many think we are already.
