Product Description

Complete third series of the classic 1990s BBC children's comedy, written by and starring Tony Robinson. In Sherwood Forest, Robin Hood (Wayne Morris) is an effete fashion-victim from the village of Kensington, so it's up to the feisty Maid Marian (Kate Lonergan) to take charge of the Merry Men and lead the fight against the evil Sheriff of Nottingham (Robinson) and King John (Forbes Collins). In this series, our heroine struggles against aliens, wrestles with giant jelly babies, and gets really hacked off with very thick villagers.

From the Back Cover

SIX spanking episodes of Maid Marian in which our heroine struggles against aliens, wrestles with giant jelly babies, and gets really hacked off with very thick villagers. Also featuring an additional hour-long episode in which she falls in love with a complete plonker. Not so smart now, are you Marian?

5.0 out of 5 stars "I want you to sew up my elephant" 16 Nov 2006
Series 3 of Maid Marian keeps up its brilliant humour and stories after a two year absence from television screens. Episodes revolve around striking oil in Worksop, Marian's mum (Patsy Byrne) coming to stay, and Rose throwing a 'Song for Worksop' competition.

As well as the six episodes, series 3 also includes the 50 minute Christmas special, Much the Mini-Mart Manager's Son.

The DVD is much like the previous 2, it comes with an original comic book by Paul Cemmick, as well as commentary by some of the cast.

Tony Robinson (writer and star), along with Mark Billingham (Gary) and David Lloyd (Graeme) also feature in a brand new interview.

If you have a sense of humour, you really need to buy this DVD!

'Dry your eyes, dont be droopy'
'everybody wants to be his groopie'
'supa-doopa-doopie'
'father bloopy'

be Warned once you hear that tune you'll be stuck with it in your head for a week!

but it's just one of the excellent pieces of a superb series, as i'm 28 it of course was a programme which I grew up with as a kid and loved, so thought i'd buy the DVd to see what it was like and being honest it's as fun, enjoyable and funny as an Adult as it was being a kid.

some great jokes, bizarre but funny storylines and excelent songs make Maid Marian a great series which i recommend to anyone who maybe loves the blackadder type comedy or slapstick comedy.

Series 3 was when it went from abit more serious to abit more silly and think it worled well, seems more mocking of real events than was on previous series but again think that works well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Back With A Vengeance!!!!! 27 Jun 2008
After a two year hiatus the gang return for more "historical" frolics. Another six episdoes of slapstick and surrealism, more popular culture references than before, and if possible sharper writing too. This is one show you found funny as a child, and can still find funny now you're all grown up. and you can let your kids watch it too!!!!!

Add in the Christmas special (just try and get that song out of your head!!!) and the usual extras (a commenatry, Robinson, Lloyd and Billingham having a chat about writing and some piccies) and it's another must have DVD.

Once again Maid Marian comic illustrator Paul Cemmick has produced a bewildering booklet fopr the package along with Robinson to round off a great package.

We have Eureka's by now expected walk through menu, and it's all very nicely done and worth your money.
