These locks are of appalling quality.
I bought two of these locks in August 2009, one for me and one for my wife.
Our bikes are kept in a shed, so the locks are rarely exposed to the elements. I use my lock twice a week, and it is left outside for a maximum of 16 hours per week. The inside of the locking mechanism is already going rusty.
My wife's lock is almost never used outside, as she locks up her bike indoors at work. In January, the locking mechanism on her lock broke completely in the course of normal use. The lock now refuses to click shut properly, and can be opened by inserting any key or screwdriver.
Don't waste your money.

Great lock... until called into action! Only took the robbing wotsits 10 mins to melt through the plastic with a lighter then hack at the metal with a junior hacksaw before they rode of on my pride a joy! Luckily my bike was found by the cops but its singed, dented, chipped and scratched. I appologise to my bike for buying this useless lock!

My bike was stolen in 2 weeks after I purchased this lock.
The matter is that it's chain is not solid. Thin-walled rings onto a 4mm steel string.
So, the chain was cut. With not much effort, I suppose.
That's it. A really great disappointment.

Sturdy lock
A brilliant value lock, surprisingly chunky. A bit heavy perhaps, if you are carrying lots of equipment, but ideal for locking my pedal cycle at the shops or train station.

Poor lock
This lock is not worth buying I've bought two of these. The first one jammed so I had to angle grind it off, then the second one wouldn't open at all when I got it from amazon

Satisfactory product but stopped working in 11 months.
I have used the product it was good for 11 months but stopped working at once took to the key cutting locksmith no repair must be replaced.

Great, Steardy Lock, Excellent Value for Money
I would recommend this lock for a bike or even a small motorcycle. It looks and feels quite strong. Delivery was quick.

Quite simply this lock in no deterent for a professional bike thief. You could tie a piece of string around your bike and it would be just as safe as it would with this lock on... Read more
