5.0 out of 5 stars "M" Thirty something Robin Gibb fan 9 Jan 2005
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
It's not the Bee Gees. It's Robin Gibb on his own and it's wonderful. Robin Gibb is not trying to be something he's not, this is who he is, who he has always been, passionate and soulful.

3.0 out of 5 stars I Would Walk On Glass For Robin Gibb 6 Feb 2003
By Martin A Hogan HALL OF FAME TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a tragic time for the Gibb Brothers, which makes reviewing this CD especially difficult. Robin had done a great service by recognizing other great songwritings with this collection. However, as 'good' as this album is, it should have been fantastic. "Please" excels and is the appropriate single choice, but the other songs seem terribly bland and ill-fitting the voice of Robin Gibb. There are no high-end fast paced songs and only one true power ballad. Granted, the production is well orchestrated, if not overdone technology, but the songs just seem to drag. There just was no reason to re-record, "Wish You Were Here" or "Lonely Night In New York". But then again, "Don't Wanna Wait Forever" shows promises with a great beat and "Inseparable" is a close second. Robin's intentions are good and I will play this album. It's just that I expected way too much.

4.0 out of 5 stars A really interesting album 4 Mar 2005
Format:Audio CD
This album is good and quite modern sounding (which is quite a surprise). I don't think there is a bad song on this record, every one has its good bits. My favourites however are Please (it gets in your head and it won't disappear), Inseperable (which improved on further listening) and Lonely Night in New York (which is fab). i wasn't so sure about No Doubt, it just sounds like someone else, but then it may improve with further playing. Overall though, expect something unconventional, as this wasn't exactly what I was expecting, but then that isn't actually a bad thing in the end.

A good number of tracks by a talented artist who sadly is no longer with us. Bought this for one particular track.

this album flat out stinks. Robin's great voice is heavily under utilized. What's with the "I'm 50+ but trying to reach the 20 year old masses thing? Read more

I like Robin's CD very much. He is and always has been influenced by soul music. He's been blessed with a youthful appearance and a beautiful voice. Good for him. Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars Oh, My, God
Terrible, this old man seems to think he's Justin Timberlake (with a blocked nasal passage), except on the front cover, where he thinks he's a frog or some kind of insect.

5.0 out of 5 stars Robin Gibb alone?
What a brilliant solo cd. So hard to strike out on your own after such huge success with the Bee Gees. A lovely compilation showing he can make it solo. Read more
