Having decided that this product was the one for me, I read through the customers' reviews (for all Magix similar products) which ranged from extremely positive to 'rather dodgy'. This left me with the dilemma of whether to go ahead and buy.
I bit the bullet and ordered photostory 8, which at that time, Amazon were offering at a very competitive price.
On installing the software on my windows XP, I soon realised that I had purchased a quality product that does much more than I expected. It is not a program for those who are looking for an 'easy non-thinking process' but for those who want a quality product and who are prepared to use all the tools available.
My advice is that you may need to spend a few hours of trial and error to understand how it works, while having the 'Manual' and the programs' help notes at hand if you get stuck. There is also access to a 'community forum' where I have found answers to difficult questions.
If you have the time to persevere, you will be rewarded by having a brilliant product, that you can use to present your photos in a slide-show on your TV in an enjoyable and impressive display.

I used this software to produce a Dvd from the professional photographs taken for my daughters wedding. The photographer had taken over 700 high quality picture, which was great but difficult to view using standard medium. This software helped us produce a dvd story of the day. The few moving effects - zooming and panning were sufficent to give some variety to the shots, but the editing of the music has the greatest dramatic effect. It was a labour of love for me - so I spent many hours of enjoyment using the software. I would give it five stars, but it did crash occasionally, so I learnt to back up different versions every 10 minutes or so. Editing the music can be a little tricky, but I mastered it in the end. Well worth the price.

Great and easy home dvd creator full of gimics to make your home videos picture slide shows look brilliant and it will impress your family and friends alike
great price from Amazon the upgrade version will do HD ouputs but this version is just as good - make sure you read the instructions and watch the demo videos to help you get the best out of the program.
