The Magimix cordless jug kettle has a unique ThermoSystem 18/10 stainless steel double wall insulating body which reduces noise and helps retain water temperature. The fast boil 3kwatt long life element is concealed. The cordless base allows for right or left handed use. The lid has a simple slow release rise for easy filling and cleaning. There is a double safety feature, the kettle will automatically shut off when the kettle is boiling or it has been disconnected. The water level gauges are back lit. The spout is non drip and contains a removable dishwasher safe metal filter. The base incorporates an easy wind cord storage system

Fist bought this kettle in Dec 2010 fllowing very high praise in the Gadget Show. This is not a cheap kettle and you could resonably expect long faultless service. Don't be fooled by the glamour features. Yes on arrival and for eight months it worked very well but a tad noisy and so heavy I would not recommend it for an elderly lady with joint problems or a man for that matter.
Then a major problem manifested itself:the push button lid release failed to perform. Firstly after the third or fourth try it opened then not at all. It was replaced by Comet being with in the guarantee period of one year. Now only seven months later. Guess what? the push button lid release is failing to operate yet again. Needless to say I am extremely under the moon that such an expensive and high rated kettle is rendered inoperable for such a pitiful reason. It has got to be a design fault that seems to kick in after about seven or eight months - good luck

Polished stainless steel, but does not show up finger prints too much... The kettle is double walled, the outside gets hot but not dangerously so. Push button to open the lid for filling - it opens on a spring, fairly slowly. Cord winds into the base if you only need it to be short - a nice touch. Kettle boils quickly - which means it's fairly noisy but no worse then any others. A white light shows in the level indicator when kettle is on.
Can't really say more - it is a kettle & does its job well. Really pleased with it, seems very well made.

I was looking forward to this kettle - it had good reviews. However, the first time I plugged it in, it failed to work. I am rather unimpressed. I will give this model one more chance.
