Product Description

Magimix Le Glacier 1.1L Ice Cream Maker. Just pre-freeze bowl for 12 hours in a 3-4 star freezer. Remove, replace lid, switch on and add your choice of ingredients. From just 20 minutes later you've made your very own delicious ice cream. A typical recipe, Light Lemon Ice Cream: Put the lemon zest and juice, the sugar and 1/4 pint (150 ml) water into a saucepan and heat gently, stirring constantly until the sugar has dissolved. Bring to the boil and simmer for five minutes, or until you have a light syrup. Lightly whisk the egg whites and, whisking all the time, pour in the still hot syrup. Leave until cold, stir in the cream. Please Note: All electrical products sold by cookinstyle (InStyle Products Limited) are supplied with a UK 3 pin plug.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use, makes great ice cream 21 Dec 2009
Quite frankly I cannot believe some of reviews of this gadget - it's only got 5 pieces including the bowl, how hard can it be to put it together!! Honestly, if you can't tie your own shoelaces then don't buy this, it's not for you! For everyone else it's dead easy to put together and use. Leave the bowl in the freezer, make your mixture, chill the mixture in the fridge, get the bowl out of the freezer when ready and off you go. 15-30mins later you will have gorgeous soft ice cream.

Make sure you whisk the mixture well, one vital ingredient most of the recipes miss out is air.

5.0 out of 5 stars Magimix Le Glacier 1.1 Ltr ice cream maker 16 Jun 2008
Great little machine. Simplicity is the art of design and this is it. Every part disassembles and reassembles with the minimum of effort; just a gentle click. Cleaning is therefore a doddle as is using this machine. Just follow the instructions, i.e. pre-freeze, make a mix which takes little time and effort and pour into the machine whilst it is running. The tastiest, freshest ice cream is the result with no preservatives, colouring or flavouring. You can even use skimmed milk and that special sugar with virtually no calories if you want to. How can anyone have a problem with that?

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for its size 4 July 2009
Assembly is simplicity itself - pop the paddle into place in the top of the machine (the part containing the motor)and the whole assembly then locks into the base with a quarter turn. Turn on machine and pour in ingredients. What could be simpler? I have only 2 minor criticisms - the relatively small amount of ice-cream this size makes and having to wait several hours for the base to re-freeze. But hey, it's relatively inexpensive and I've had mine for 10 years without it going wrong once, now that's a good product.

4.0 out of 5 stars A gadget worth getting.
Simple and effective. Yoghurt with any type of fruit is yummy. Sorbet's brilliant, especially the old standby, lemon.
Whilst creamy ice cream is something else.
