My Magimix is the corner stone of the kitchen. It's used in one capacity or another virtually every day. I purchesed a replacement lid about 3 years ago and railed against the cost. So when the bowl cracked at the handle and the lid developed a small crack, I decided to work it to death before forking out agaim.Big mistake with hot soup!!!!The motor continued to work perfectly as the contents were flung to the far corners of the kitchen. The dog is still having small moments of joy as he finds a corner previously overlooked that had been missed on the BIG CLEAN.I looked at replacing the bowl and lid, was disgusted at the cost but then revised my opinion when I looked at how much I would have to pay to replace the whole kit. Suddenly, the best part of £100.00 didn't sound so much. But you don't get much for your money, do you? The thing is, Magimix(in common with many equipment manufacturers) have you over a barrel. It's not like you can buy other spares from a different manufacturer in a normal market economy. So, what can I say? the bowl and lid are great, they work. But considering what you pay, I would expect them to be more robust and stand up to constant use for a little longer. Before the Magimix, I had a Kenwood food processor. When I next need to purchase spares, I may just ditch it and go back to Kenwood. Far morte robust.
