We have had this kettle for about a month now, having had a very long wait for it was out of stock everywhere. It's quiet to operate, holds 1.7 litres which is about standard and is heavy - though not too heavy for my slightly built wife to lift. The water level indicator lights up when you put it on, which is a bonus. After numerous kettles which have a lifespan of only 4 months ( our last)or just over a year when the warranty runs out (the one before it) we have gone for this Rolls-Royce of kettles with a 3 year warranty. I would say that it has been thoughfully designed - even the base has soft studs to prvent kettle vibration which generates noise. Simply superb.

Can't fault the kettle for looks but after a few months the rubber seal around the lid started to allow steam to escape from right around the side of the lid which almost scalded my hand. My kettle was covered by the Magimix 3 year guarantee and a replacement was quickly sent so I cannot fault their after sales service. The kettle is quite expensive so being a Magimix I expected it to be made in France but in fact is made in China.

After buying a new kettle every 3 months (it seemed!) I decided to just go for an expensive one on the basis that you get what you pay for, I have not been disappointed. OK - its pretty heavy (quality feel if I put a positive spin on this) and a little loud, but both points are worth living with. The kettle boils quickly and looks great.

Over-rated
