This is a quality item. Make no mistake - from the moment you take it out of the box, it feels just right. The weight, the smell (!!) - everything.

The glass sides make this really good looking. The product oozes quality and you just know it's going to last for a while.

I have one issue however - the heating elements are just at the top and bottom. If you want your bread really browned, it toasts the tops and bottoms more than the middle.

If you can live with this (and I can), then this is one stunning product.

Yes it is a high price to pay for a toaster, but having bought and returned a Breville VTT201 because it didn't click down, and was very tishy and IMO poor quality, I thought I'd bite the bullet and go for the Magimix, hell you only live once!
It is brilliant, and so smart, it does exactly what I want it to do and that is give me a decent slice of toast! The great thing is that you can see how it's doing through the glass sides and press the stop button at the moment it is done to your liking, and it pops up. It is also very fast, giving you lovely toasty bread with the middle still soft. I love it!
Was it worth £130........ probably not, but it looks great and like my Magimix food processor, very well made and has a 3 year guarantee. So there's no argument from me!

I bought this toaster to replace an old Magimix one, so I know how they work. I also know how well built they are. I drooled over this Vision toaster for a long time before buying. 5 stars for the build and the look! But it's a clever gimmick, I think. The toast was unevenly done, to the point where the top was almost burnt and the bottom was barely brown, the middle was crispier but not browned. Not too good for a toaster, my old Magimix is far better. A couple of thoughts... my old Magimix had a bell that dinged when the toast popped up, this machine doesn't. The plus is it's quieter to use, the negative is that the toast goes cold if I haven't heard it. I agree with a previous review that said because of the "glow" produced when the toaster is on it is hard to tell what colour the toast actually is, until you pop it up. The glow makes it look darker than it is. And as much as I love the idea of the glass to see the toast, most people have a toaster against a wall, so you only see one side anyway. Is it worth it? TBH, not really.

My husband has been coveting this toaster ever since a mate of his bought one! It's obviously now fashionable amongst males of a certain age to take an interest in toasters........and watching your toast cook is now the thing to do. Some might think this sad, others will appreciate the novelty talking point when you have visitors staying the night. Others may just be delighted that they can finally get their husbands to make the toast........for me it's just a great toaster with neat features like a reheat setting for your toast if you inadvertently let it go cold and a baguette setting which allows you to cook one side of the baguette only. Very efficient toaster and great fun as well!

when I was buying this toaster I thought its a lot of money, but then I thought its only like spending 50 pound on a toaster just to find its no good and then buying another toaster at the same kinda price and that not been good either so I talked myself into buying this magimix I am so glad I did its brilliant it toasts lovely and leaves the middle of the bread soft as it should be and not like compressed chipboard, it toasts evenly and quickly my whole family loves it, depending what you are toasting its even quicker ie currant tea cakes ect-- I would highly recommend this toaster even at this price

There's no doubt about it. This is a nicely engineered attractive product. It has very useful features but comes at a price that makes you wonder if it wouldn't be cheaper to order out if you don't eat a lot of toast.

We bought one to replace a 4 slice toaster that had cost less than 20% of the price of this. We expected to have the benefit of evenly browned toast as shown in the pictures on the box, however the results were not much better that those produced by its predecessor. It made me wonder if they toasted bread to perfection under a grill and popped it into the toaster for the photo shoot.

When the lever is pressed to lower the bread, shields swing back to expose the heating elements and a mechanism moves in supposedly to grip the toast. As said by another reviewer, the elements are at the top and bottom on each side. The fact that bread is not a perfectly flat vertical surface and has some undulations in it means the surface is unevenly exposed to the radiant heat and hence unevenly browned. I suppose that if bread was hand cut in thick enough slices then perhaps it would be firmly gripped and held vertical by the clamping mechanism so that it browned more evenly.

There's something to note about the 3 year warranty, which of course, you don't find out until you have the box open in your kitchen. It says: "Under no circumstances shall the application of this guarantee give rise to the complete replacement of the appliance or entitle the consumer to damages." It says the usual things about not affecting statutory rights, however it doesn't give me warm feelings about the reception I might get in the event of it failing or worse.
