This is a change bag, sometimes known as an egg bag, The Flying Spaghetti Monster knows why. It's a great little magic prop. You can make things appear, disappear, or change from one thing to another. I put three seperate coloured silks into it and then draw them out mysteriously joined together. Highly visual. The mechanism is very easy to operate, you don't really need to practice (but you should anyway).
It may be old hat to some experienced magicians, but ut still delights lots of audiences.
