My grandson was delighted with the Titanic book and although he hasn't had a chance to do anything in this one yet, I know he'll love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tsunamis and Other Natural Disasters: A Nonfiction Companion to High Tide in Hawaii (Magic Tree House Research Guide #15) 3 Jun. 2010

I read this book in conjunction with In2Books, a program which pairs willing adults with students in schools across the country. My student and I both enjoyed it a great deal.

This is a factual book with lots of information about natural disasters both modern and historical. There are even safety suggestions for those caught in these precarious situations. An enjoyable read for me as an adult, and my fourth grade student seemed equally enthralled.

4.0 out of 5 stars timely 5 Aug. 2008
By Nancy Stewart - Published on
My school is in South Asia, and most of my kids knew someone affected by the tsunami that hit Southeast Asia, some of them had been to sites devastated by the wave. Thus this title was of great interest to the thinkers amongst them. MPO is so good at presenting information in a format they can handle!

5.0 out of 5 stars Magic Tree House book -- Tsunamis and Other Natural Disasters 4 Nov. 2007
By J. Gotsch - Published on
Grandson is collecting all the Magic Tree House books and guides--haven't had a chance to read this one w/him yet -- but we haven't been disappointed yet. These are great books for children -- 1st - 3rd grade level especially. The guides are more detailed than the stories --- so can read over and over at different ages and the child will understand more each time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Age appropriate; not too scary 13 Oct. 2008

My first grader used this for information to supplement a book report and thoroughly enjoyed it. Kids have a fascination with natural disasters, and this book approaches it in an informative and not-too-scary way.
