Product Description

A major health crisis is emerging, one that most doctors are just beginning to recognise. It's not heart disease, diabetes, or obesity, although it's linked to all three. It's out-of-control blood sugar, and you may have it without knowing about it.You may not realise it but your diet may be putting your health at risk. If you regularly eat foods that send your blood sugar soaring or dipping, this is the book you need. It lists 57 foods that will help you to lose weight, increase your energy, slash your diabetes risk and generally make you feel better. The book includes more than 100 delicious recipes, specially designed to promote better blood sugar, plus meal makeovers that show you how - with a few simple fixes, you can transform any meal into a 'magic' one. Finally, handy meal plans for three different calorie goals help you put the whole programme together. Nothing could be simpler or more effective.

My husband is diabetic and we already had a copy of this book, I bought this copy for a relative. It contains extensive information of low Glycaemic Index foods and recipes, which you don't acquire from short visits to advisers. After a week using the recipes, we felt fitter and my husband had tightened his belt by two notches. We found this book so informative, we recommedMagic Foods for Better Blood Sugar (Readers Digest) for the information even if you don't use the recipes.

good fro diabetics 7 Aug 2010
This book is excellant for people with diabetes as it tells you what foods help high blood sugar levels to decrease and how certain foods help keep it low.
It also has some excellant recipes two of which I have tried already and they are superb, full of flavour but not too much carbs.
