"Fast paced action and irreverent humour...Michael Lawrence has a very quirky talent, given full rein here." Publishing News

Product Description

There is a tradition in Jiggy's hometown by which the night before a boy's first day at school his father takes him to the Piddle Pool near the old quarry. Boys pee in the pool for a lucky school life. But Jiggy's dad never took him...and now Jiggy wants to change his run of bad luck. One night, mid-piddle, something happens - and a genie rises out of the water. Will Jiggy's luck be reversed...or will it just get worse?!

5.0 out of 5 stars For kidz aged 6 to 36+, 2 Aug 2002
To quote my 10 year old daugther...
"If you only read one book this Summer Holiday, make sure it is Maggot Pie!

It's funny, it's Mad and even a little bit 'Urggh' in places, especially when the Rhino flies over the park and covers Jiggy McCue and his friends in a 'Rhino-Pat'!

Even the biggest kid in our house (my Dad!) is reading it and loving. So make sure all you other kids buy it and read it quick before the Adults claim it as theirs."

This would will make you laugh on every page, you will not want to put it down.

1.0 out of 5 stars Old book - new title, 26 Jun 2009
By Ian (UK) - See all my reviews
This is undoubtedly a very good book for children, however, when my son received it I was a little saddened to discover that rather than it being a new title it was nothing more than Maggot Pie with a new title and cover, a book he already has.

It fails to mention this fact in the title or description - somewhat misleading I feel.
