Book Description

6 Aug 2013 Family Secrets Trilogy 1

From Lisa Gardner, the New York Times No. 1 bestselling author of TOUCH & GO and CATCH ME, comes the first in the Family Secrets trilogy. Gripping, arresting, classic romantic suspense titles originally published under the name Alicia Scott.

When shy and reserved Maggie Ferringer is called for jury duty, she never expects to be kidnapped by an escaped convict. But Cain Cannon, disguised as a prison guard, pulls a gun, and she has no choice but to be taken hostage. Cain claims that he's innocent of killing his girlfriend six years ago, and now he wants revenge on the people who put him behind bars.

Soon Maggie becomes more than just a hostage to Cain. As they slowly begin to share the secrets of their respective pasts, she discovers there's more to him than meets the eye, and that his freedom is worth fighting for, at any cost.

I have read all of Lisa Gardner,s books ,so I was really looking forward to this one. What a disappointment . This is one of her first novels and it shows ,very predictable almost Mills and Boon . If you love Gardners books this one isn't for you.

Don't mind what name she chooses, Lisa Gardner can write a fantastic story. Crime, romance, drama, her books have it all. Believable , understandable characters, no wasted words on description to fill the pages, every word counts. Read this, you won't be left wanting, actually you will. The next book.

This book was completely different to her usual book - as you would expect, as this time she is writing as Alicia Scott. I can't wait to read the next in the trilogy. The characters are so believable you feel as though you know them as well as your best friend...but then just how well DO you know your best friend?!!
Wonderful book and highly recommend (including the delicious erotic scenes!!).

5.0 out of 5 stars Fab 12 Aug 2013
By MJ
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I thought this book was fab. Loved all the characters (especially Red) and it moved along at a nice pace that kept me riveted. Not her usual crime writing style, definitely a romantic intrigue but that's okay because I wasn't expecting it to be like her norm. A very intelligently written book by a very talented author. Looking forward to reading book 2.

1.0 out of 5 stars Awful 11 Aug 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I have read all of Lisa Gardner's books and have been a big fan. This, however, is awful. I feel terribly let down and am fed up that I wasted my money. Don't buy it. It's terrible. I would give it zero stars if that was an option.

4.0 out of 5 stars Light hearted 25 Feb 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I am really enjoying making my way through all Lisa Gardner novels and this novel was as good as any other I have read. It's very different from the usual DD Warren books but still enjoyable. It's a light hearted read which was also funny throughout. I have gone on to read the other two books in this trilogy which so far have been as good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another well-drafted suspense-filled winner 7 Feb 2014

Lisa Gardner writes intelligently and perceptively and always inserts to put at least two unexpected twists in her storyline. She always manages to create a 'can't put this down' narrative.
