Learning Spanish? Mirela! 9 April 2004
By R. Jurosik - Published on Amazon.com

I stumbled across a few of Quino's Mafalda comicstrips in my textbook, and I fell in love with their charm, wit and subversive humor. Lo and behold, there's a movie from 1981, collecting her animated adventures together in a loose narrative a la The Peanuts TV series here in los Estados Unidos! The transfer's a bit scratchy, but that effect only adds to the warm, aged, low-fi feel of them film. It's colorful, comic and charming, and the voices are perfecto! For those who don't yet speak Spanish but want to follow along, clear English subtitles are provided. Very heartily recommended.

A little disappointing 3 Nov. 2008

My wife from Colombia loves Mafalda, and I've read a lot of the strips with her, and I thought the video would be a little more than a series of gags from the strips. There wasn't really an underlying story. Still, it was cute to see the characters come to life.

Good 7 Feb. 2007
By Mafalda - Published on Amazon.com

I had always been a big fan of Mafalda, but hadn't realized there was a movie. I used to watch the cartoons and read the comics, but never the movie. So I picked it up from here, and while it wasn't much on plot, it was still entertaining and clever. Like the previous poster noted, the quality is a bit scratchy and not terribly clear, it kind of adds to the nostalgic feel. I didn't mind it but it might be an annoyance to someone else. All in all I enjoyed the movie, very charming.

Better as a cartoom than DVD. 23 Aug. 2010

I'm a old Mafalda fan, I love these cartoons since I was a little child.

Now I have a daughter and tried to introduce her in Quino's art trough this DVD and... fail.

The animation and the sound is poor, but the political content is there.

Is a nice try to translate the cartoon to DVD, but...

Well, I love Mafalda, so I will keep with this DVD...

Good old Mafalda 1 May 2008

The animation is poor (consistent with the latinoamerican animation of that time). There is not a consistent story or plot. It is more like the best Mafalda cartoons, now animated!
