Took this excellent little book on our 3 day break and what an absolute gem it turned out to be. Would have been lost without its superbly detailed maps at front and back also saved us from needing to buy tourist guides at the museums etc. An absolute must.

Loved this book - it contains neat sections of the top 10 of just about everything to do in Madrid. Includes places to eat, drink, sights to see, places to visit etc etc. We certainly saw more of the city in 5 days than we would ever have done if we hadn't bought the book and it was quite satisfying to get back to the hotel and tick off all the places we'd been! The reviews were very brief but very accurate so we felt quite confident exploring on our own.

It's always difficult to choose a book like this when there are a few on offer, especially without seeing them. This was succinct, informative, up to date and had everything we needed for our 4 day stay in Madrid. Descriptions, maps and general information was excellent and the way the guide split Madrid up into its different areas was helpful, highlighting the shops, restaurants, museums, sights, etc. We even did the suggested "A day's shopping" on page 81 the first day, following the suggested route and taking in the specified shops and sights - and lunch break! The size was just right so that it could fit into a jacket pocket for easy reference, though it has a separate fold up map if you want to leave the book behind. Recommended.

Enough of a bit of everything
We visited Madrid for 5 days and found this book to be full of good ideas. For each section of the city it gives a possible walking route to ensure you don't miss the main sights. Read more

useful handbook
This is concise and is written in a plain, no-nonsense style. I would recommend this book if you are only going for a few days and need to highlight the special places.
