This is a very poor 'map'. About 1/3 of the available space is used by the map which is small and does not have the names of squares and minor roads (there are a lot). Because it has a plastic effect it is impossible to write on it, to mark one's hotel, etc. Anyone over the age of 40 will not be able to see much of it at all. A very poor production. People will make their own decisions about which restaurant to used - a mass of useless information, possibly out of date is provided on eating out. The 'metro' map is tiny and almost unreadable. The index is TINY!

Plasticised map opening out to a little over A3 size so manageable. Clear, sharp print with a key and metro guide. City guide on the back will be apt to go out of date I should imagine but useful if you are looking for the main, central tourist features.

I got this guide as well as the frommers the best of guide. it was nice to read the AA one before we left home. but in Madrid it proved not to be so useful we ended up carrying the other one with us the whole time
