I notice that Warner Brothers is about to release a box set of all Madonna's official studio albums from 1983-2008. Great idea in principle, but it seems like a missed opportunity somehow. If only they had put a little bit of love into this project and remastered all of the tracks, added sleeve notes and photos and included remixes and 'b' sides, this would be an amazing collection for the fans. As it stands, only the first 3 albums are remastered with extra tracks...but they have been available for over 10 years. Also, why not include Who's That Girl? (i know it's a soundtrack and not that good! but it could have 12" versions of WTG and CAC as well as a remastered The Look of Love as well as live versions), You Can Dance, I'm Breathless (another Soundtrack, featuring Vogue, a huge hit) and Evita (yet another soundtrack) With so many excellent remixes out there, it's shame not to include them here. Also the timing is a bit off, would have been better to release an improved version of this package at an anniversary eg 25 or 30 year anniversary.
I have all the albums already, so won't be spending my money on this.
