Book Description

A Darkly Sweet, Fun, Twisted Love Story.

Welcome to the world of The Grid. Where heroic bad-asses looking for a second chance to get into Heaven are fighting a war among us.

Reno Sundown's been fighting that war for over 150 years. But just like the war, no one knows it. That's because he's the dark split personality of one of the Grid's baddest heroes. The only things he is ever allowed to have are the bad, the pain and the violence. Never the good. A dark secret to be hidden away. And he thought that's all he would ever be. Until her.

Emma Devenmore has always focused on one thing, family. The eldest of her sisters, she has made life centered on protection. Protecting her family and doing her job of protecting others. A love story was never in her plans, until she met him. And then, didn't know he even existed. Watching and longing for something he was not allowed to have. Her.

Can love make a life? Can it be so strong that despite the darkness that has staked its claim, can it make the impossible possible?

Can the Beauty always save the Beast?

Even when she doesn't even know he's waiting to be saved?

5.0 out of 5 stars A Grown up fairy tale 7 Dec. 2013
By Nikki
Format:Kindle Edition
Madness is exactly what it says on the Tin. Mad. Insanity. Its a Grown up fairytale story of Disneys beauty and the beast, with a happy ever after with Sex and action.
Having been waiting what feels like forever for this story between the beauty, Emma and the beast that wasn't meant to be Reno, it was certainly worth the wait.
The author writes in such a way that the words stick in your head, creates the story and brings you along for the ride. I found my self shouting and crying and laughing (hopefully in all the right places) along with it. Even if you've never heard of Shadow keepers, or breakers the infamous Reno before, this book explains it all and leaves you wanting more. Which of course we can't have until next time around when the story continues.

This is a book too good to not read.

5.0 out of 5 stars A "Rare" Madness 14 Dec. 2013
By Wendy M. Schuffert - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition
Sometimes a girl just wants a good adventure.

From page one, I felt the intense pull of this world Jas has created lift up and wrap around me, rushing me into a vivid landscape of wicked, fresh originality. There is something both deliciously foreign yet wholly familiar about the bold characters as they dance through all measure of human (and non human) experience. The exquisite pain, the unparalleled pleasure, the seductive darkness and the addicting agony; it lives in us all. And that is Jas's magic, he holds up the mirror of a truth that lives in everyone, but that we always deny. He forces us to not just look...but SEE.

I felt a kinship to several of his creations and the witty dialogue, along with the fast pace, had me pouting when I finished it. Jas...MORE. MORE. MORE. Don't make me beg.

A good book resonates and leaves you a bit sad when you realize it's over and you're forced to return to the "real" world.

A great book, however, leaves you looking around and wondering how the hells the world around you is ever going to be the same again after all you just lived through, thanks to the author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not what you expect, but in a good way. 9 Dec. 2013
By Ariel LeAnn - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition
I went going into this story knowing the characters--or so I thought. Jas has an amazing way of taking things you know and completely turning them around. Reno Sundown is still the sweet, childlike character that I knew, but then he also is a lot different. The story of Reno and Emma is a tale of everything trying to keep them apart, and in the end nothing can. It's sweet, it's dangerous, and it will constantly keep you on your toes.

Along with the main characters, one thing that I really like is how Jas didn't lean on premade characters i.e: gods, creatures, etc. Every character in here is her OWN(excluding one or two, but they have Jas' own personal twist)which to me makes it that much better.

When I first got Madness, I figured I'd like it, in the end I ended up loving it. Definitely a must have. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars A Roller Coaster Ride 9 Dec. 2013
By Amazon Customer - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Every once in a while a reader comes across a book that will illicit a smile, a laugh, or even a tear. Jas T. Ward has managed to weave a story that will give you all three from beginning to end. The emotional wringer so to speak. This is the first novel in what is sure to be wild emotional ride of ups and downs. A series that introduces us to the Grid and the Shadow Keepers.

The story is centered around an unlikely hero, Reno Sundown, who we were first introduced to in a novella in Ward's book Bits and Pieces. Reno has an almost childlike innocence although he was created to only experience the worse life had to offer. But it his desire to change his lot in life and hold on to the one person that makes him feel whole that will make you fall in love with and root for the character against all odds.

If you are looking for a book with twists and turns that will keep you glued to the pages, look no further. Let Ward infect you will Madness. It is quite the journey.

5.0 out of 5 stars I am going Mad for Madness! Loved it! 7 Dec. 2013
By Amazon Customer - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition
I can truly say this book is flat out awesome. Being a long time fan of Reno's story on social media I was worried that I couldnt read this story with all the changes or that Reno and Emma's story may not come across as potent as it was to me as in the past. However, in true Jas fashion I am not disappointed at all. I love this story. I love this couple and I love this version. The writer stayed true to the love story of these two characters yet she has given me new twists and turns with the book version. I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed the characters Sundown and Sophia! This story will have your heart twisting in dramatic fashion all while sitting on the edge of your seat hoping beauty can save her beast. Well done Jas, well done.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hero is the bad guy 7 Dec. 2013
By luckyinlove - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition
I expect a lot out of books. I'm a picky reader. Especially if it is a supernatural/magical type book. I want to hate the bad guy and love the hero.

Now, at first glance you'd never think that this was a love story. But it is. The good guy thinks he's bad because that's what he was made for only, he was made for more things than even he could imagine. I loved the fight he had within himself and the doubt he held. I loved how love always ALWAYS finds a way. Once you start reading you DON'T wanna stop. It pulls you in because you have all the elements.

You've got the love that shouldn't be, but is, You've got action and conflict, You've got twists even I did not see coming. Ward took modern knowledge of heaven and hell and gave it her own twist into this world she created.

It goes without saying I think this book and series will be successful because it's different. It's not your typical love story where the good guy is sorta bad. Reno has depth, Reno is unique. You'll fall in love over and over again.

I Loved It!!!
