Format:VHS Tape
This is the ultimate film for fans of the band Madness. It appeals to both die-hard nutters and casual Madness fans. It is full of laughs and cheesy acting. The story follows the origins of the band from the early days and then a few fights, falling outs and run-ins with the law the seven are playing to packed houses. In other words, see it now!

a must for all madness and music fans alike.this release is a fine example of the trials and tribulations of a young band starting up and all the ups and downs that come with it.from their earliest incarnation as the north london invaders through to the first single,prince,as madness this is an ox blood dr marten rollercoaster ride of a movie.see em nearly getting their flat topped heads kicked in by a load of skinheads at the acklam hall see chas doing his crazy headbutt dance to swan lake and be afraid of the stalinesque mike barson who treats all and sundry like shoedirt.apart from the wooden acting at times this is fun fun fun and the songs still sound great.

This film has it all. We all know Madness are 7 cockney blokes who sang chirpy melodic songs in the 80's, right? WRONG! Suggs is from Hastings for a start! But anyway, this documented and sometimes sublimly acted masterpeice is the work of Madness producer/friend/management type Dave Robinson who has been involved with the lads since it all began. We see the drummers that came and went, we see a very slim and young looking suggs playing pool, we see the ever entertaining Lee Thompson go off on one, we see early gigs before the chirpy chappy songs were making it big, we see a band who had to struggle through several line ups before things really clicked into place. Well made and edited for its time 'Take It Or Leave It' is a classic, with depressing shots of the London Underground and bands playing in back gardens I urge any fan of music or anyone who is starting a band to watch this film for inspiration and a damn good laugh.

Oh really?
For a lot of reasons one could slaughter the whole thing, but I choose to let them get away with most of it. Even the ugly commentary track added on to this DVD I'll let slip. Read more
