More About the Author

Simon Puttock was born in a town named after a boot and brought up all over the shop. This has led to a lifelong confusion about Where Things Are. He also cannot do left and right in a hurry. For this reason he has thankfully never learned to drive. When asked about himself, he will admit to being left-handed and interested in cacti. He says he likes lots of other things too, but often forgets what they are.

As a writer, he thinks it is important to be well organised, use notebooks and stick to a routine, and wishes he could do any of these things.

Simon is currently looking forward to trying to grow tomatoes on his window sill. And then eating them. (He hopes that by the time you read this, he will have achieved this ambition.)

Product Description

Book Description

Mademoiselle Gorilla is not like other gorillas – she is a poet. Feeling ignored and misunderstood by her loud-mouthed, banana-guzzling family, Mademoiselle Gorilla sets sail for New York, where her artistic nature and true talent are quickly recognised and rewarded. But the fame and fortune of movie stardom isn't everything, and Mademoiselle's sensitive soul soon begins to yearn for her family, and the tumble and whoop of the jungle . . . --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

About the Author

The word is out about Simon Puttock. A former bookseller, Simon has been working as a full-time writer for two years, consistently producing witty and original stories. Mademoiselle Gorilla is only the first of his many exciting books for Macmillan. Watch this space! Nicola Slater is the distinctive cover artist for Meg Cabot's tremendously successful The Princess Diaries and All Amercian Girl. Mademoiselle Gorilla follows the great success of her first picture book, Have you Seen Elvis, which publishes in paperback in May 2004 (0 333 98708 X).
