Product Description

John Michie (Taggart) and a host of celebrities including Emmy Award-winning actress Kelly McDonald, model and polo star Jodie Kidd, singer KT Tunstall, TV presenter Kaye Adams and author Iain Banks look at the iconic symbols that give Scotland such strong visibility internationally. These are those aspects of life that Scots have tremendous enthusiasm for, and each episode reveals the little known history behind each symbol and challenges popular assumptions.

I SAW THIS PROGRAMME 1 OF THIS SERIES RECENTLY ON SKY ANYTIME AND WAS CAPTIVATED.

As an ex-patriot of Scotland who has been worried oabout losing my Scottish identity over the last few years, i found this production to be a real treat.

It reminds you of the many great contributions that Scotland, its people, scientists and pioneers have given to the world. However, it doesn't do it in a stuffy manner. Far from it, humour is threaded throughout all the subjects covered. No subject is laboured, with about eight minutes allocated to each subject covered.

You don't have to be Scottish to appreciate this DVD but it does help!!!!

You might not be aware of a very well known orange coloured Scottish fizzy drink (i hesitate to call it pop) which outsells coke in Scotland.

You might just want to try it after watching this DVD. A WONDERFUL ADDITION TO MY DVD COLLECTION AND HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

FANTASTIC !! 2 Sep 2010
As with the documentary on the Highlands John Michie presents a fun and informative program, one that can be viewed over and over. Makes we want to go back !!!

A good bit of fun 12 July 2010
As a Scottish exile I really enjoyed watching this; it never pretended to be a serious historical programme, but as an enjoyable celebration of "Scottishness" it really hit the mark. It did however show some of the things that we all feel proud of and that we all miss and enjoy (I personally pine for diet Irn Bru)
None of the celebrities took themselves very seriously and this made it all the more relaxing and enjoyable.
When I start to feel homesick I will definitely watch it again to get my inoculation
