Format: Paperback
If you've read my previous reviews you will know I am a big fan of the Made In France series, the beautiful photography combined with stunning ideas make these books a pleasure to read. This book as with the others starts off with full page colour photos of all the projects in the book. There are 40 projects including the standard quilts, cushions, bags, aprons etc but also some more unique projects like a scissor keeper, a button bag, a sewing tidy, wall tidys and some great little gift ideas.

The instructions are in the latter half of the book, along with the templates. I have to say that as a visual person I would prefer the image to be next to the instructions, and a few diagrams to help with the piecing, however the instructions are detailed and there are some diagrams for the more complex makes.

This book would be particularly good this time of year as there are some great fairly simple projects which would make great Christmas gifts for friends and family.

Format: Paperback
40 classic patchwork projects are included in this book. The beautiful projects are photographed at the beginning of the book and the project instructions are given at the back, including templates and detailed instructions. I like the book, I love the projects and the photography is wonderful but please can we at least have a small photo of the project with the instructions? It's only a minor niggle to save ploughing back through the front of the book. great cushions, bags and all sorts of accessories for the home. This book is ideal for anyone who loves sewing. The styling is very good and nice use of fabrics. This review first appeared on Karen Platt's book review website.

This is a really lovely book to sit down and read and re read. The photography and styling are done well and the projects are simple and stylish. The only thing that makes this not so practical is that all the instructions for each of the makes are at the back and there are no diagrams or photos to accompany the instructions. This means that there is nothing to refer to as you are making except the photographs in the first section of the book! All in all though, the lovely ideas and stylish photography mean that this is a book I keep picking up!

I was given this book as a present, but really they should not have bothered. There's not much I want to make in it, and there isn't much in it to start with. Save your cash and get something else. I think my friend liked the cover, we all know you should never judge a book by its cover, in this case the cover was the best bit!
