Madden NFL 10 also lets you take your fight online with an all-new Online Franchise mode, complete with 32 teams, NFL-style drafts and a custom league webpage. Add to that the most immersive broadcast presentation to date, and Madden NFL 10 gives you everything you see on Sundays, minus the grass.

Pro–Tak
This all new animation technology provides unprecedented control over the outcome of every play. Drag defenders towards the first down marker, including up to 9-man gang tackles, fight for a fumble at the bottom of the pile, and evade the rush with all-new quarterback avoidance actions. Enhanced play at the line of scrimmage features a new blocking system that allows the quarterback to step into the pocket and gives the defensive line more control over the rush.

Fight for Online Dominance
One of the major improvements of Madden NFL 10 over its predecessors is its improved online franchise mode. Battle for franchise dominance online with leagues of 32 teams, with functionality featuring real NFL scheduling, live fantasy drafts and draft options, player transactions, league message boards, and more - all manageable from your console or your league's custom web page online, making your Madden NFL 10 online franchise always just a click away.

The Extra Point Show
The realism of Madden NFL 10 is about more than just for the action on the field. With the introduction of the game's postgame show, the Extra Point, every game feels even more like a real life gridiron contest. Check out the happenings around your online franchise league with its dynamic, network-style reporting and commentary hosted by Fran Charles and Alex Flanagan of NFL Network. Featuring news and information from each week's games, The Extra Point recaps all the excitement of your franchise.

Online Co-op
For the first time in Madden NFL franchise history, players can team up with a friend online and battle against the CPU. This co-op mode supports the headset accessory for communication in and out of the huddle and allows players to play any position on their squad, switching anytime before the snap of the ball. In addition, the mode features a variety of camera angles specific to the chosen position, allowing players to work on game strategy, practice plays and experience the game from a new point of view.

Madden NFL Your Way
Madden NFL 10 is the most customizable version of Madden NFL to date. Now players can alter gameplay options to adjust the experience to their liking. A revamped play calling system and menu takes you to kickoff faster than ever before. Players in a hurry can even speed up online matches with accelerated clocks, streamlined presentation and more.

Unprecedented Authenticity
From referees peeling players off a fumble pile and the chain gang rushing in to measure for a key first down, to authentic throwing and kicking styles, all-new player equipment and pre-game ceremony for every game, including the Superbowl, players can be sure that if you see it on Sunday, you'll see it in Madden NFL 10.

Product Description

On-field authenticity and emotion is taken to another level in Madden NFL 10. With more control over the outcome of the play than ever before, players can drag defenders towards the first down marker, fight for a fumble at the bottom of the pile, and avoid the rush by stepping up into the pocket. Utilising an all-new animation technology, Madden NFL 10 ensures that the Fight For Every Yard doesn't end until the whistle blows.

5.0 out of 5 stars awesome - heres why... 18 Aug 2009
Platform for Display:Xbox 360
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
first of all, to the morons who claim its a slow game this year...

YOU CAN ALTER THAT IN THE SETTINGS!!! make it quicker if you want, slower.. its up to you!

Basically, the sliders are back this year, so you can alter ALL aspects of the game.
Think its unrealisitc how often plyers break tackles. Theres a slider for that. Want more interceptions - you can alter that too.

Don't like the new "fight for the fumble feature?" - turn it off then! Don't complain about it!

Basically, imo I love the fight for the fumble, the 9 man gang tackles and the extra point tv style show in franchise. Is it seamless? No, but its a worthy addition and something different to watch as a way of relaxing after a big game to see whats happening in your game world, and scout your next opponents.

The gameplay has options to seem slower so that you have more time to amke those great cuts and tackles, but has numerous speed settings if you want to alter it in any way.
You can also alter how great the speed difference os between the fastest and slowest players, something I wish Konami had done years ago for Pro Evo, where fat defenders were often as quick as nimble strikers.

There are plenty of new animations, and I really feel the play isn't over once a defender comes to close me down, I use the right thumbstick to "fight for every yard", lowering my shoulder with big RB's and juking left or right with smaller ones. For this reason, whilst i am not an EA fanboy, or a madden fanboy, EA have for ONCE delivered on their tag line and made a good game. The wide camera is cool too for those with a big tv, as you can finally see the whole width of the field from the moment the ball is snapped, meaning no more blind passes outside the numbers.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best Madden yet! 18 Aug 2009
By Dr Evil TOP 1000 REVIEWER VINE VOICE

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I've been playing the Madden games for years and I can honestly say that this year's improvements are very impressive, especially with the newly added Pro-Tackling feature as it means that it is a lot harder than it used to be as you are now getting attacked by 7 defenders as opposed to the usual 2 or 3. The computer AI is much cleverer than I can ever remember as well, so the 1 player franchise and exhibitions prove more of a challenge and are good practice for when you take on your friends and others online. If you're a newcomer to the series and want to play this online, I'd recommend some unranked matches at first as ranked games can only be played at All-Pro level with 5 minute quarters, which can be hard even for players who have been playing for years.

The graphics are so realistic that it is easy to forget you're playing a game sometimes and the presentation is superb, giving you full halftime show including information on other games from around the league during franchise games. The commentary is very accurate and gives player information as well as very responsive play-by-play analysis. The controls are much improves too, now using the right stick much more for dodging when running with the ball or going for strong hit-stick tackles.

Overall this is definitely the best Madden game yet and I know I'm going to get my money's worth over the next 12 months.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic game! 10 Jan 2010
Platform for Display:Xbox 360
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Finally got this game after the price had been dropped!

After playing the Madden 09 game I really wanted to check this one out for the new features and achievements.

The gameplay is better than 09 as you have the fumble mini game now. Which is fun, although I seem to lose every time when playing against the computer!

You can now create a team and play with them which is awesome. The only really negative view I have is how some of the 360 achievements are a little annoying and sometimes glitched. But other than that the games great for the price!

A must have if you are an NFL fan.

First off I am a huge fan of the game of American Football. To the point of unhealthy obsession. The greatest tragedy of my life is that I'm British and have to play rugby.

What are the key componants that make up American Football in the NFL?

Money and Contracts
The actual play of the game
Personalities
Fans
College Draft

I'm going to focus on the Franchise mode (where you play seasons in the hope of winning the Big Game) because I believe that should be the key aspect of the game.

In '08 you had Player Roles. This varied from Team Leader to Team Distraction, from Heaver Hitter to Coverage Guy etc. They even had little icon's.

In '10 this has been ditched in favour of a potential system. Which to me is ridiculous because as the real life players show us anyone and everyone has the potential to be a star (wether they live up to it is a different matter entairly...enter JaMarcus Russell...). It bassically means if your player is an A he can become a 99 overall. However if he is a C he can only become a 79 overall.
The stats themselves have been expanded and offer a useful insight into each players skill sets. Which in a way replaces the Heavy Hitter or Go to Guy role icons from '08. Although you don't get the satisfaction of the little picture icon. So your reciever for example will be rated on Catches in Traffic or Spectacular Catches and so on.

It also means that whilst your running back or reciever may only be a C potential, he can still reach a 99 in say, juke moves or route running.
As far as I can gather though there seems to be no dicernable reason for why one player is a C and another an A.

This is though were the good stuff for Franchise mode ends.
