Product Description

Review

The British have a soft spot for villains, especially the criminally bewildered, and Mad Frank, now in his 70s, has become part of the heritage trail (SUNDAY TIMES )

His memory for details is clearly undiminished - not for those of a delicate disposition (THE TIMES )

I read it from cover to cover in two days, hypnotised by the larger- than-life characters (CAMBRIDGE EVENING NEWS )

un-put-downable. (BIRMINGHAM SUNDAY MERCURY )

Book Description

An omnibus edition of Mad Frank Fraser's two books. In the first, he tells his own extraordinary story as a key figure in London's criminal underworld. In the second, he reveals the criminal code which dictated behaviour and the alliances this fostered.

MAD! 1 Nov 1999
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
After reading The Guv'nor, Pretty Boy, and Dave Courtenay, my friend sugested Mad Frank. Having already read a bit about him, I decided to give it a go.

What can I say. The man has spent more time in prison than I have been alive. Literally every other page details him going away for one crime or another - usually one which involves his fists.

I have to say that although it was a very interesting read, it was not put together all that well. It seemed to jump about from one incident to another, so consequently it was quite difficult to keep track of.

However, don't let this put you off. If you can persevere, you will be completley amazed by Franks storys. It really did give me a new perspective on life, especially freedom.

Give it a go!

i am a fan of charlie bronson books and hoped this could be as interesting as them. unfortunatley its not! this man is one of the most famous crime figures in modern british history yet this book did not capture that. it was like reading the ramblings of an old man. it was all over the place, very poorly written. if frank is reading this i do apologize!!!

when i first started reading the book i thought it was getting boring but it describes how this man was a member of britain`s 2 most notorious gangs...the krays and the richardsons.frank knows more people than the hair on a hippy.he has speant nearly 40 years in total in prison and most of the time he was either beating up every skrew or attacking the governor.he stuck to his prison sentance not even going out when he had parole offered to him on a plate.he was fearsome and was known to beat up his gang leader jack spot back in the 30`s.frank now is retired from his long life of crime but still has a great memory of the old days which he will never forget.
