Great textbook. Concise, direct. Concepts exposed in coherent and easy undestanding sequence, a work from someone who knows how the undergraduate thinks. Good examples help comprehension of theory and links it to real world.

This is the most precise and concise macroeconomics textbook I have ever seen. I especially appreciate the abundance of colourful figures drawn, which makes it highly suitable for beginners of macroeconomics. For beginners, a good textbook should include the elements that are attractive to dummies. Unlike the other typical macroeconomics textbooks (which are wordy and lengthy), this book adopts the "to-the-point" appraoch which stimulates the readers' reading incentive. And you can finish the whole book in a very short time!
Although it is intentionally for undergraduates, it is also suitable for anyone who have done the first course of microeconomics.

Macroeconomics (as well as most other fields of economics, for that matter) is a subject which involves many graphs and diagrams. Mankiw's book was used in my intermediate course on macroeconomics and I was very satisfied with it. Its graphs are well laid out and contain lists of steps in the margins explaining how they were obtained. It is also easy to read. The examples provided are relevant and interesting, and the style is conducive to learning macroeconomics.
