New Just Listening Multimedia Player. Enhanced to provide a truly multimedia experience, the updated Just Listening device now displays images that correspond to the sounds you are hearing! So you'll see scenes from Copenhagen while you listen to the Danish national anthem and check out the Carnival festival in Rio de Janeiro while you listen to Brazilian street music.

World Book media on your iPod! World Book's rich media collection can no go where you go on your iPod. Export all the sounds, video clips and animations in World Book: From volcanoes erupting and sailfish jumping, to presidents giving speeches and bees making honey. If it's in there, you can play it on your iPod.
More media and articles added. This edition of World Book contains thousands of new and updated articles, illustrations and photos. New articles include Generation X, Hurricane Katrina, Angela Merkel, Charlize Theron, Avian influenza (Bird Flu), Instant messaging, Data mining, and many more.

Enhanced Screen Saver. By popular request, we've made it possible to display titles for the pictures floating by on the World Book screen saver. With categories like Famous Women, Sports Heroes and Stars of Stage & Screen, you can learn who's who with the titles on, then test your memory with the titles off.
Related Info in the Atlas area. Want to know more about the region you're viewing? Get access to a list of all the articles, pictures, and other maps related to the current map all with a single click! For example if you're looking at a map of Boston, Related Map Info will list related articles from the Boston Tea Party to the Red Sox.

Updated Notepad. Need to write a composition containing 200 words or less? No more need to count the words one by one just use the new Statistics sheet on the Notepad student word processor and you'll instantly see the number of pages, words, and characters in your document. There's also a handy new Font Drawer that displays WYSIWYG font faces making it easier than ever to find just the right look for your documents.

• Bonjour Sticky Notes - Taking advantage of Bonjour (formerly Rendezvous), Apple's automatic network technology, you can instantly and automatically share your sticky note bookmarks and research with others.
  
• Just Listening - Listen to an irish jig as scenes from Europe float by! Just Listening gathers World Book's music and sounds into themes from national anthems to famous speeches and bird calls. Media on the Just Listening player and on the Waterstream home screen change to reflect the selected theme.
• Speech Technologies - World Book's speech capabilities in this new edition make it possible to navigate World Book using voice commands and to have any article read aloud to you. Fully supports Apple's VoiceOver technology!
