Book Description

Revisit the Mackenzies in this heartwarming Christmas tale. Book 4.5 of the New York Times bestselling Mackenzies / Highland Pleasures Series, this short novel has fifteen chapters, 43,000 words.

The Mackenzies gather for a clan Christmas and Hogmanay in Scotland. In the chaos of preparations for the celebration--the first of Hart and Eleanor's married life--one of Ian's Ming bowls gets broken, and the family scrambles to save the day. Daniel busily runs a betting ring for everything from the hour Eleanor's baby will arrive, to whether Mac's former-pugilist valet can win a boxing match. Ian begins a new obsession, and Beth fears that the loss of one of his precious bowls has made him withdraw once more into his private world.

Events take place after the close of The Duke's Perfect Wife (before the Epilogue).

5.0 out of 5 stars A Perfect Gift ! 22 Jan. 2013
By Helen
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have really enjoyed this series and this Christmas short story was a great addition. Each Mackenzie brother has a complex character which has been battered, both emotionally and physically, by the previous Duke - their father. Don't think this story (or the series) is all doom and gloom - it's a wonderful love story. All the family gather for the Christmas holiday at the family Highland castle - determined to make sure everyone has their perfect gift. Watching the development of such finely drawn characters and especially to see how Ian has become the man he was truly meant to become is very satisfying. You don't need to have read the other books in this series but you will definitely enjoy doing so. I cannot wait for the next one - thank you Jennifer Ashley.

I was keeping this to read at Christmas, but just couldn't wait. Anything with Jennifer Ashley's name on it I have to read straight away.
I loved everything about this, it is very well written, has gorgeous characters, and has all I need for a great read. The MacKenzie series is up there with the best of historical romances.

I enjoyed this book. I wasn't aware there were other books about this family. The characters were likeable but as I haven't read the previous books I was getting a bit confused about who was married to whom from time to time. A lovely Christmassy read though.

Enchanting addition to the wonderful Mackenzie series. Ians story is my favorite so to get more insight into this facinating character was a real pleasure, not to mention the rest of the family. I highly recommend, Jennifer Ashley is a great story teller.
