Max(Josh Walitt)works at his fathers funeral home and also attends high school, where he is bullied constantly and ignored by the teachers. He doesnt mind though, as he knows he's going to win the school science project. How? Well he can bring dead people and animals back to life thats how. He creates 'Machine Head' by stealing a corpse from his fathers mortuary, wiring it up to the computer and strapping a lawnmower engine to the side of the unfortunate corpse's head. Things start to go terribly wrong when 'Machine Head' starts to become very protective of Max.
Okay this isnt perfect by any means. The acting is on the whole pretty bad, with the exception of Josh Walitt who gives a glorious O.T.T performance as mad Max. Most of the high school students look far too old to be in secondary education, and the whole thing looks like its been shot on someones home video. However, none of those things matter, as its funny, creative, and its a very fine example of how a bit of wit and imagination can overcome budgetary limitations. My favourite bits were when Max brings the neighbours dead cat back to life, and when Max and his creation hijack the Science awards presentation.
It's no classic, but it's got plenty of class. 4 out of 5

As a massive metal fan i really enjoy gettin dvds from tours ive been on to try and relive that event in time, this dvd blows every other one out the water, the intensity of the bands commitment to their fans is amazin, they didnt care the cameras were there they did what they do every night and thats why this works so well just a pure honest bands play to give something back to there fans, and the setlist is amazin with a brilliant range of tracks spanning their career, if u dont have the money now make sure u get it for christmas

Machine head is a great low budget horror movie.I think that it is a must see movie and i recommend this movie to any one.

MACHINE HEAD is an extremely low-budget film about mad science creating a murderous maniac w/ a lawnmower engine strapped to his head! That's about it, but isn't that enough? Gory and gloriously insane in the best Stuart Gordon-type way!...
