Does what it suggests, giving a concise explanation of the text. The explanation of the text is in small type to the left of the larger play text on the right, all squeezed onto one page. The book is larger than your usual sized book, and would stick out by 4cm or so when put on your bookshelf, this helps fit all that useful information in. Some pencil drawings of the imagery and metaphors are included like for example an owl attacking an eagle, I don't know how useful this is but I have remembered it so perhaps it's doing its job. It would be great if some room was made for note taking.

Excellent edition, larger than the others with annotations adjacent to the text on the same page which is excellent. As the previous reviewer says, as the book is larger than your usual sized book this helps fit all that useful information in and also allows plently of room to add your own notes in comparison to other editions. Overall, excellent edition, especially when I compare it to the other editions others use in my class and also my teacher recommended this edition.

The complete GCSE standard version of Shakespeares' play. The main text is reproduced well and the annotations are concise and informative. There are sections in the book that offer a good factual background to the setting and history of Scotland in the time of macbeth. Highly recommended.
