I have used the white MacBook's since they came out in 2006, for me they have always been fantastic little workers that generally have given me no hassles at all.

My biggest complaint was always that the integrated graphics card was rubbish, I know that for Apple this is their entry level notebook and that notebooks are not known as fast gaming machines however the Intel Graphics chip used in the previous model was simply dreadful.

This machine is fast, light and is fully featured, and from my own personal use is recommended without any hesitation.

I've only had my new Macbook for a week, but so far I think it is a brilliant little machine. It is slightly more expensive than equivalent Windows based PC laptops, but the difference in quality is noticeable.

I have found the transition from XP to Mac OS X to be easy, and I am more impressed by the Apple operating system by the day. Everything is just so much easier to do on a Macbook than on a PC.

I would have given it a 5 start rating if it had come with a larger HDD. 120 gigs is ok, but with the amount of photos I take, and my music I can see myself filling it up. Not the end of the world though as I can use external HD's or upgrade the current HD.

Talking of which, all my photos which I backed up on my PC to my external HD were instantly available to me on my Macbook. Be sure to format your external drive as NTFS if you plan on doing this.

My final verdict is that this is a great little machine for all your home computing needs and an excellent introduction to using Apple computers.

I recently bought this product due to my old windows laptop all but giving up on me. I had heard great things about the Macs and decided, after some persuasion (due to the price of it) to purchase it. Initial thoughts were that the glossy outside of the Mac looked wonderful, but there was a noticeable difference between the grey matte inside, although I suppose this doesn't detract from the overall appearance too much. I have also noticed how the laptop attracts a lot of dust on the screen and glossy part of the Mac. This could happen on all laptops, but due to the colour, it may be more noticeable on the Mac - I don't know. It's not a major downside, a quick wipe with a cloth and the dust is gone!

I love the fact that the Mac loads up and shuts down so quickly. It means that I can save the battery by shutting the computer down, rather than just putting it in stand-by mode to save time when on the move, like I had to with my other laptop. The machine is really quite, I am yet to hear the fans. When placed on my lap, I can feel the Mac warm a little on my legs, but it's not hot and if anything, keeps me warm in a cold and drafty room! The keyboard is cool to the touch and it's only slightly warm near the 'escape' key in the top left hand corner.

Talking about the keyboard, it has taken some getting used to that the 'enter' key is so small. I think it could do with being slightly bigger, just so that those of us with fat fingers can press enter without pressing two other buttons at the same time! :D... But, I think the keyboard looks smart and the rest of the keys are the perfect size for being able to type with ease.

Seeing as I've only had it for a few days, there's still a lot more for me to learn about Mac and how to use it, but it's something I'm happy to do because it seems like a great product! I would definitely recommend it to anybody!

I bought one of these and loved it. Then, after 15 months (3 months after the warranty had expired) its battery died. I rang technical support - and they were not supportive. I was told that I had to buy a new battery. And guess what - new batteries are just a sliver under £100. I had calibrated the battery regularly and only got 76 cycles out of it. To add insult to injury I found out that prior to May 31st, Apple were replacing these batteries for free if they had not completed 300 cycles. So I'm out in the cold with a tethered craptop!!!!
