I am a big mac fan, and the Macbook Air is beautiful. I won't go into the benefits of having one (too many to mention), but things that have let me down:
- The screen started to flicker after 3 months, and I had to get it replaced under warranty (there are many instances of this in web discussions).
- It is a bit slow, especially when booting up office applications or even firefox.
Buy it for the styling, think about extending the warranty.
UPDATE:
Now installed Snow Leopard - it is noticeably quicker. 4 stars.

It looks great; has a very bright screen. Its small, thin and light its ideal if you travel a lot and don't need a computer for doing lots of processor intensive tasks. Its great for still photos; office productivity applications and watching / listening to media.

I love this laptop! As another reviewer says it runs much happier on Snow Leopard which will come with all recent machines. Or definitely worth the £25 OS upgrade. On everyday applications it runs pretty fast and the brilliant full size back lit keyboard is a joy to use. For me this was the clincher - I weighed up the pros and cons of getting this Air over the iPad and despite being pricier the advantages of full screen, full keyboard, printing etc the makes it worth the expense.
