Mac OS X in easy steps - a beginner's view,
By
This review is from: Mac OS X Snow Leopard in Easy Steps (Paperback)
Shows the absolute basics without any complicating clutter and is very useful, but as such it still leaves a PC user a bit puzzled as to how to perform some tasks that have become second nature on a MS based PC (e.g right click functions, rename etc.). Some reference to equivalent PC operations would help.

a good little reference book for Mac newbie .. easy on the pocket book,

I recently switched to a Mac Pro tower from being a PC user for the past fifteen years.
I bought this neat little reference book as soon as I purchased my Mac, and read it cover to cover before I even powered up my Mac for the first time. This book taught me all the basics of using the Mac OS X Snow Leopard operating system so I wall all primed and ready to go as soon as I got the new Mac set up on my desk. The transition from PC to Mac was super smooth for me, and every time I had a question, I was able to look at this book to get pointed in the right direction. The book cost me $17 and was certainly a worth while and fair investment. I can tell you there are other much more expensive books out there on the Mac OS X operating system, but this book was all that I needed, and spending more money on a more detailed and comprehensive book was not necessary for me. For this reason, I recommend this book for people switch to Macs. |
