Really nice little item, but be warned; with the hidden postage it evened out at just under £8. (A tad excessive considering it was just a jiffy bag, but it was sent first class, which is something.) Still not a bad price, but it would've been nice if it was a little more obvious to consumers.
The cable connects to the headphone socket of the mp3 player not a dock connector, so could be used with other players just as easily, rather than only iPods. Power supply is either four AAA batteries, or it comes with a cable that connects to a computer's USB socket, which works just as well. The cable isn't massively long though, less than a metre long. Both the cables are white, so if you are an iPod fan, it'll match.
The sound, for the price, is surprisingly good. It's a little tinny, but not nearly so bad as I expected for the price. Better than my laptop's meagre speaker, certainly. I use them for comfortable background noise in a small student bedroom, they do the job nicely. In a bigger room, at a louder volume, I doubt they'd fare so well.
The apple shape is very cute, and makes a nice change to the folding white cube-like ones, which are rather dull aesthetically. Though I actually received green rather than red (which in retrospect, I am glad about), and according to the box they come in orange as well, so you may well want to specify a colour if you order.
The controls are simple, situated just behind where the mp3 player sits; an on/off switch with a small LED indicator light, a volume scrolling control, and the socket for power if you're using the USB cable.
Perfect for travelling between home and uni, and for the price I don't have to worry about insurance for them specifically, or the possibility of losing them. So glad I bought them.
