Product Description

Product Description

MSI is offering tailor-made solutions with the release of the all-new Intel Atom processor N450 with integrated architecture for the stylish Wind Series Special Edition U135. MSI's attention to detail and pursuit of perfection in product design are also demonstrated by an even more stylish product with a sturdier and quieter MSI Chiclet keyboard, a lid treated with Color Film Print coating over a stylish woven pattern, a 20% larger touch pad for extra comfort and longer battery life.

The U135 continues the outstanding tradition of MSI U Series netbooks. With an exterior as light as it is sharp and an efficient 10 inch LED backlit display with 1024 x 600 screen resolution, web pages and documents can be viewed more easily in richer, more beautiful colour. In addition, the U135 does away with the straight lines and angles, employing graceful curves and arched designs that flow together in harmony.

The Wind U135 features MSI's exclusive Chiclet keyboard that uses an independent key design for more stable, quiet operation. At the same time, it gives the U135's exterior a more exquisite and artistic look that creates a sense of quality. MSI has specially incorporated a wider touch pad, it's 20 % larger surface area allows for easier finger movement. It is also a striking design symbol that helps these models provide an even more flawless and comfortable user experience.

The Wind U135 uses the newest Intel Atom N450 processor and with exclusive MSI ECO Engine Technology increases battery life by 15 % and overall performance by 10 %. The flexible allocation of power during use extends endurance to its limits and gives the U135 all-day, uninterrupted, ultra-long battery life.

MSI Wind U135 9 May 2010
Absolutely superb netbook. Screen gives a really sharp pictures and the battery lasts very well. With the size of hard drive it drives all applications but is a little slower than a notebook but the convienience is brilliant. Keyboard is very easy to use and quiet. I'm really pleased with it. Just remember that there is no CD drive which needs to be external but thats the same for all netbooks.

I love my MSI 13 Jun 2010
Light (1.3kg incl battery), great screen, a fully charged battery will last for at least 6 hours, virtually noiseless and keyboard is very comfortable. The speakers are terrible, but I didn't buy it as my next hi-fi anyway.
I got rid of the win 7 (starter) and installed ubuntu linux 10.04. It boots like a lightning and everything worked out of the box except for the ralink wi-fi card which needed some tweaking and bluetooth. Webcam and mic works fine with skype, and really there's not much I can't do with my little MSI. I have not done any photo editing on it yet, but I have no doubt it's perfectly possible even if the screen is only 10", as it's also extremely sharp. I'm glad I decided to go for this net book instead of a larger laptop. Go for it.

I bought this for my girlfriend who takes lots of notes as part of her job and needs to be mobile.

Its a well made piece of hardware, that looks good and as a gift does the trick. The built in camera and general layout of features is well planned and executed.

This netbook does not cope well at all with multimedia. I can get SkyGo player running at a push but the lag is noticeable, youtube is a little better but the sound suffers (I think this is more of a lack of memory than the CPU). I also upgraded the operating system to a bigger version of Windows 7 which was a mistake, stay with the lite or starter edition installed.

That said, it does cope very well with MS Office 2010 and as a general mini-work station is ideal. I can also confirm this has been dropped no less than three times without its case and has survived to tell the tale.

My other half loves it, I think its quite good. I know friends with Packard Bell and Samsung netbooks and I still think the Wind is the better of the bunch.
