Hi This pc will run Windows 8 but you will need to buy it separately. It does not come installed as you would find with most other computers or laptops.

Hi Fred, I can suggest 3 ways to accomplish the OS installation i. Use an external CD/DVD drive ii. Use a bootable USB drive iii. Attach the Windbox to a network and install the OS over the network. For i., plug in the CD drive cable unto the computer and change your BIOS settings to boot from external drive or CD For ii., depending on the OS to be installed (Windows or Linux), create a bootable USB drive using boot creation tools like WinUSB Maker, Rufus or UNetbootin and extract the OS unto it, change your boot preferences in the BIOS and off you go. For iii., create a mini network using your router and second PC with a CD/DVD drive and then connect the new computer via cable and install to the share drive which should then be visible. Your buyer ought to know a bit about PCs and can figure out what other steps to follow. Hope this helps but come back with questions if you will. Tony
