Delighted with my motion sensor light bulb which I ordered on Tuesday evening and received this morning (Thursday). Couldn't really have asked for a faster turnaround by KGGlobal and the product arrived protectively packaged and with good instructions on how to set and use it.

We moved into a new house last week which has an integral garage accessed by a door from the hall. However the lighting has been installed on the assumption that the lightswitch should be beside the main garage door, rather than the door from the house. Even after a few days this was proving a bit of a pain given that we're in the garage several times a day and it houses our freezer and cat litter trays. I was looking at having another switch put in until I stumbled across this product. Now the light switches on as soon as it detects you entering garage, and back off again shortly after you've left. It's even sensitive enough to pick up the movement of our cats and light their way to the litter trays!

One very useful feature is the adjustment that saves the light coming on depending on the amount of natural daylight in the room. Our garage has glass sections in the main door so doesn't really need to come on during the day - though I'd have lived with that for the convenience. After a bit of experimentation today it only switches on when you enter the room after dusk, what more could you ask for at £18! Another reviewer mentioned that this seems a bit pricey for a bulb, but if it lives up to the claimed 20,000 switches on and off then I reckon you'd end up quids in!

This is an excellent product. The image shown has a screw fitting so I thought I might have to change the 2 light sockets I was planning to use the PIR lights in. Within 30 minutes of placing my order, I received a call from the seller inquiring if I wanted a screw in (ES) fitting or a (BC) bayonet cap fitting - this is pretty impressive service and it saved me the time and trouble of replacing sockets. I would advise buyers that this is an excellent product with excellent customer service from the seller. N.B When ordering advise the seller if you want ES or BC fitting.

MOTION SENSOR BULB SCREW TYPE

I have had two of these units and both failed within a short period.
I recommend reading the low star reviews before purchasing.

I wanted to turn the lights on/off automatically in my mother's hall at night, but to not operate during daylight.
Both the units I ordered were received quickly and worked perfectly when received. I would have given the product and AV10 5* as others have done at this time.

But be warned. My first unit failed completely in less than six months. I returned it to Amazon who paid the postage and reimbursed the product cost. Good customer service.

I ordered a replacement, this was shipped from AV10. Again the light worked well when received, but failed completely in less than 3 months.

I returned the unit, deciding not to replace as I feel there is either a quality problem with the product or batch of them. I notified AV10 of the problems I had experienced with the product. They agreed to re-imburse the product cost, but would not pay for the return of the faulty unit. They quoted their returns policy and would not budge, despite being asked by Amazon to pay for the postage as the unit failed.

Reading the reviews I see many others have experienced the same problem.
If you feel you want to take the risk with this product, buy it from Amazon directly.

Light worked fine until it was on for 90 minutes continuously whereupon the bulb failed with a loud crack. This was on the first day of use. The box suggests a lifetime of 8000 hours; mine failed after less than two!

I've had two of these bulbs and both failed in less than 5 months.

Great while they lasted but, at that rate, a very expensive investment.

Would have expected a much longer life for this type of bulb.

** March 2014 Bulb still going strong - hope I'm not speaking too soon hehe

Product works a treat. I'm using it for a porch where there isn't a PIR porch light, just a bayonet lamp shade. After fitting, it was a simple case of adjusting the time light stays on and how sensitive to when it comes on depending on sunlight conditions. Motion detection brilliant.
I have no problems opening the door when it's nightime now. Delivery next day after despatch also good considering having to pay postage.

It was ok when it worked at first, but then it stopped detecting motion from a distance within a week, and within the 3rd week stopped working completely. Quite expensive for what happened.

I never even got to see this working. The lugs on the bayonet cap were located such that it's a very tight fit against the spring in the light fitting. Whilst trying to fit this bulb, one of said lugs just crumbled like brittle bone, rendering the bulb useless. Had I managed to fit the bulb, and had the lug snapped off on its own under the pressure of the spring, this coould have been very dangerous indeed.
