If like me you suffer from angry raised extemely itchy lumps when bitten by midges etc then this is the product for you. OK the slight buzz on the skin does give a slight noticeable zing however it really does help so much in removing the itch that it is worth a second of discomfort. I am lost without mine. It lasts much longer than any cream and the creams do not help like this product. It arrived promptly and in perfect condition ready to use.

I bought one of these on the recommendation of a friend and have found it works extremely well. I had to zap a bad bite two or three times, at night and after showering, but it made the bite go down and stop itching much quicker than anti-histamince cream.

I have only had the opportunity to try this once but wish I'd had it when I was bitten to bits in New York of all places. I used it after the bites had been there a few days but they cleared up pretty quickly after that. My experience is that bad bites can go on itching for a week or more....but these scurried away at the sight of the Zapper...so look out midges and mozzies.....I've got you covered!!!

[Note: My review refers to the "Zap It!" which is the alternate name for the product listed on this page. They're the same exact item.]

Background: I got devoured by mosquitoes on a trip to Mexico in 2009, and the assault on my system was enough to land me in hospital 3 times in a single week. (During the first two visits to different hospitals, my condition was misdiagnosed and I was given the wrong treatments; the third hospital figured out that I had developed an allergy to the mosquitoes). It seems that because I was bitten so many times (over 50 bites), my body went into some sort of shock and ultra-defence mode. As a result, I now have a very heightened sensitivity to all bug bites.

With this in mind, I intended to use as many precautions as possible for my recent trip to Hawaii. Here's how I protected myself (I'll discuss "Zap it!" in a moment):

Step 1:
Started taking Vitamin B Complex two weeks before departure. I chose one that had huge %RDA of each type of Vitamin B (I think B12 is the most vital), and always took it in the morning because it can cause really awful nightmares if you take it close to bedtime.

Step 2:
I sprayed all my holiday clothes with Sawyer's Permethrin Spray. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001ANQVYU/ref=cm_cr_mts_prod_img

Step 3:
Covered all exposed areas with Ben's 30% Deet wipes every day. http://www.amazon.com/Tender-Bens-12-count-Travel-Wipes/dp/B001GAOIME/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1303674359&sr=8-5

Step 4:
Always had my "Zap It!" clicker tied to my handbag.

Step 5:
I kept some antihistamine tablets handy just in case I felt overwhelmed by itching, but luckily I didn't have to take any.

This device is the best mosquitoes bite reliever. As a camper, I always carry one of this inside my bag. This device can easily let go the pain and itching of a bite of a mosquito. Beside this device is totally free of chemicals and non-allergic. Anyway it cannot protect you from mosquito bite. To chase away those troublesome creatures, you have to use a modern, 100% effective repeller such as Portable Ultrasonic Mosquito Repellent device - battery operated; which is totally chemical free

For some reason insects find my blood too tasty to resist. And, I get allergic reactions when I get bitten. I've tried Deet based products and they irritate my skin. I've tried the smelly stuff, the natural remedies and a list of things. I have tiger balm and anti-histamines, you name it. I got this product hoping that it would take the irritation out of bites whenever I get one...And, it works! It really works. Of course nothing beats preventing getting bitten in the first place, and, if you're like me - you're going to get bitten- there's places you won't put the lotions!

I found that when I get a bite if I get the clicker to it within 5minutes then it doesn't become an itchy massive lump. I tend to click more than is suggested and, this may be more about my own fear of the bite developing into a wait at the hospital. This little device works and if you are one of those people who get bitten alot then do yourself a favour and invest in one! You won't regret it.

I am a camper and have tried most mosquito repellent products. This actually works and the relief of itch is almost always permanent! Also it,s tiny so you can carry it arround even with your bathing suit.
