Really great album from start to finish. I wouldn't normally give a death metal/grindcore album a full 5 stars even though I'm a big fan of the genre, purely because all of the songs can sound very similar to one another after a while of listening for so long, but this album is really interesting with the different guitar, drums and especially vocal techniques used by this band.

Travis Ryan's vocals are among the best vocals, in my opinion, that I've ever heard on this kind of record. There is also some very melodic vocal lines in lots of the songs which make them more memorable.

Absolutely worth buying If you're a fan of death metal.

This has got to be the best album of theirs yet! All the songs are brilliant, up there with one of my favourite albums to date. Great vocals, just the best. Don't even contemplating buying it. Just do it!

Death/grinders Cattle Decapitation return with yet another piece of bewildering yet blissful noise! carrying on were "The harvest floor" started the band continue to refine their song writing Travis Ryan expands his vocal ranges the shrieking inhuman yet strangely melodic "clean" chorus' are more present, as so are the dark melodies and some melodic solo-ing too.
all this adds dimensions to their original sound but Don't threat there's no danger of them diluting their vicious attack in any way.

Travis Ryan has got to be the best extreme metal vocalist around at the moment but the whole band is on form here stand out tracks include "A Living, Breathing Piece of Defecating Meat","Projectile Ovulation" and double closer "the monolith" and "Kingdom of tyrants" whilst the band aren't considered a classic band within their genre yet this album certainly takes them a step closer to being so.

the best current extreme band at the moment?
probably!

Cattle Decap F****ing Rules 11 May 2012
By Metal-Matt \m/ - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Finally got my "cattle pail kids" preorder today from indiemerch. It was a lil late thanks to metal blade waiting on them to send the vinyl,so I got it two days late but nevermind that,Because as soon I listened to this album I had to hear it again.I listened to it five times in a row before I went to work, and three times after, through and through I'm amazed at their muscianship. They're like a fine wine,They get better and better with each record.I have no problem with saying this is their best to date. There are some elements here that are unlike any other album in their "cattle log".I mean the first song has an almost hardcore death choir kinda thing toward the end and travis's weird harmonic howls are more meticuolus. The whole record is more meticulous, from the shrieks and squels to just the shere brutality,is just unmatched. I've seen these guys Three times, and Im seeing them again this month.I can't wait, their live show is just insanity! Do yourself a favor and just buy it! These guys work their assess off to make this music, this genre doesn't get enough recognition like it should, I mean these guys work ten times harder than most musicians today and have fun doing it. LONG LIVE METAL!!!!! Throw up your horns! \m/ \m/

This album is "well done" no pun intend. 11 May 2012

Once again Cattle Decapitation have proven to be seriously the absolute best Veg-death metal bands EVER! Travis Ryan is voice is unparalleled to anyone else. NOBODY SOUNDS LIKE HIM. The musicianship is over the top yet again. Next to Marco pitzurilla ( ex braindrill) this drummer is a blast beat God! New bass player rocks. Wonder why Troy left? Guitars..crushing. The "singing" portions are definitely different. It only shows that their evolving more and more. Basically this band needs your attention. Buy this album it will blow your mind. And if you weren't a fan of death metal you will 100% organically be one after this! :)

Without a Doubt the Best Album of 2012 6 July 2012
By Bret - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
I initially downloaded this off a torrent site as I had previously only been what I would consider a casual fan of Cattle Decap. Before I knew it I must have listened to the album over a hundred times in a matter of weeks and have since purchased this on vinyl. It is hands down the best album so far in 2012, I do not regret making this purchase one bit.

If you like death metal there is no reason in hell you will not like this album. Do yourself a favor and purchase this, these guys put something out that is worth spending money on and that's coming from a guy that only purchases one or two albums a year.

No need for for the play next button 15 May 2014

I kind of found out about this band by accident by clicking on random albums people have uploaded on YouTube. So essentially, the first minute of an album had to have my attention in order for me to keep listening. For sure, "Carbon Stampede" had my head banging the whole way through, and I wanted more. Before I knew it, I had gone through the whole album. While I'm not much into death grind or death metal (mostly listen to more mainstream bands like Lamb of God and Sepultura), I can say without hesitation that this is one of the best albums I've ever heard. And in a different way than other albums I considered great, where it has several good songs, so I consider it a good album. Here, every song is good I can easily listen to the whole thing without wanting to skip around. Also, each song smoothly flows into the next which is rare to hear anymore anywhere since cassettes lost their popularity. And unlike other metal albums, this album doesn't feel the need to overwhelm you with speed, deep growls, and screams. At different points, it calms you down with beautiful guitar solos and they experiment quite a bit, and at the end, it all sounds amazing.

All in all, great album, great band. I look forward to any future work of theirs.

UPDATE: Been almost two months that I bought this album and I still play it at least once a day. Still love every song. None of them have gotten old to me, and I continue to bang my head to the incredible blast beats and zone out for the awesome melodies.

Impeccable, Inspired, Ingenious 22 Jun 2012
By Adam D. Pearson - Published on Amazon.com
'Monolith of Inhumanity' is one of the best albums ever recorded in any genre of music.

The musicianship of the band members are commanding, creative and compelling, and the messages in the images and lyrics are extremely powerful, unique and captivating. Every member of the band is truly a master of his instrument, and vocalist Travis Ryan's performance is nothing short of staggering as he surpasses even the most seasoned death metal fan's expectations with his delivery and execution.

Cattle Decapitation are unparalleled in both their brutality and originality, and this album is absolutely stellar in terms of performance and production. 'Monolith of Inhumanity' is most certainly a milestone in the heavy metal genre, and in my opinion, a brilliant musical masterpiece capable of garnering praise from music critics and fans from any background, preference or knowledge base.

Support this group of artists in any way that you can, for Cattle Decapitation are truly deserving of both long standing professional success, and your utmost personal respect.
