The signal amplifier is a passive device designed to capture stray radiation in the body of the phone and re-radiate the signal to improve the phones performance. Even if you have a good signal were you are it does not mean you will have a strong signal in other parts of the country here and abroad, the booster increases the strength of the signal received.
You must have a signal for the chip to work on, if there is no signal obviously even with the chip in place the impossible cannot happen. But were you do have a weak signal it will work to strengthen that impulse

Dont waste your money, on this or any other mobile phone booster, they do not work. its just a total waste of your time, effort and money. this scam has been around as long as mobiles.

i purchased this thinking it would help, but living on the island, i think i need a sure signal device, this mobile signal booster, is all curled at the edges now, and not worth it. glad only spent a few pounds on it, its ready for bin.

Unlike the many nay-sayers posting here, I have used these boosters in several phones over more than 10 years; they DO make a difference, although they are not miracle workers - expect a 5-10% improvement in signal strength from 1 booster.
You CAN use multiple boosters inside one phone; I did this with a Sony Z7e years ago, and improved average reception from 1 bar to 3 or 4 - signals in my area are very bad due to the dense rock of the neighbouring range of hills, adding the boosters meant I could get reception in 99% of the area I was working in.
There are plenty for sale on Amazon for under £5, join me in buying some!!!
