Book Description

1 Mar 2007
Considered by some to be his masterpiece, this 1912 work is the culmination of decades worth of study by William Walker Atkinson, one of the most influential thinkers of the early-20th-century "New Age" philosophy of New Thought, which encouraged its adherents to learn the secrets of mind over matter. They did so via Atkinson's instruction, and here, in one concise volume, are his lessons on: . mental magic . desire and will . personal magnetism . mind-power in action . four kinds of suggestion . and more. American writer WILLIAM WALKER ATKINSON (1862-1932) was editor of the popular magazine New Thought from 1901 to 1905, and editor of the journal Advanced Thought from 1916 to 1919. He authored dozens of New Thought books under numerous pseudonyms, some of which are likely still unknown today, including "Yogi Ramacharaka" and "Theron Q. Dumont."

5.0 out of 5 stars This will always be one of the greats!!. 10 Oct 2004
By P. Andersen - Published on Amazon.com
For all lovers of truth, metaphysical and(otherwise)this is "The book to read"!. BUT BEWARE!. Mr.Atkinson is for the serious reader, for he is no joke!!.This book is deep!,I bought the copy I own in a used bookstore in Europe 20 years ago;an original hardbound copy. I'm glad to see it's still in print for all to enjoy in this century.Mental magic in animal life and mental magic in human life(chapters in the book) are both fascinating but so are mental atmosphere, personal magnetism, channels of influence,a glimpse of the occult world, self protection ect...This book had to be mind blowing in it's day 1912 the first copyright year given. And it still is!! when you read it you'll see for yourself!!!. On pages 114-115 in a chapter called mind power in action,"Many of these great centers of desire force-these successful men, who attact to them that which they want, and those whom they need".... GET THE BOOK!.

By An Avid Reader - Published on Amazon.com
From one of the most important and influential fathers of the late 18thc - early 19thc New Thought Movement, this book is indicative of the way Atkinson has helped so many people understand the mysteries of the mind and our ability to utilize it to its fullest potential. An excellent book for anyone looking to maximize their thinking and mental faculties.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best - Now this is SOME BOOK ON MIND POWER 29 Oct 2004
By Laura De Giorgio - Published on Amazon.com
One of my favorite old books on mind-power. The language it uses may be somewhat outdated, but it is entirely awesome - a thorough guide in using mind power and mental influence in any area of your life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great book on my creative quest 28 Jan 2008

I found this book to be very rich, full of powerful and very helpful information. I was actually doing some research for my husband on Mind Dynamics and read reviews regarding many authors here on Amazon...where I discovered the author Atkinson. Picked up the book in the morning and did not put it down until I read each word. Captivated! Also reading books by Joseph Murphy and I find these authors complement one another.

By B. P. Swapp - Published on Amazon.com
I'm very happy with my book. Everything from this early 1900's author is unimaginably daring and forward. It's gold on every page. The book was in mint condition and came right away! Thanks a mil!
