5.0 out of 5 stars Just the job 4 Feb 2011
I needed to record from my recently acquired Kawai electric piano on to my Mac and, being completely new to such a venture, I was not at all sure it was going to be straightforward. Some of the reviews of MIDI/USB cables were less than encouraging with reports of failure - mainly, I discovered, with Yamaha pianos. With some concern I ordered this cable and wondered how it was going to work. It turned out to be "plug and play". Using Mac's Garage Band software it proved simplicity itself to record what I wanted.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mostly works with Win7 2 Sep 2012
I bought this to go from my Roland TD-4 set to a Win7 x64 machine so that I could listen to YouTubes and drum DVDs while playing along. Not so much. The drums were seen immediately and beautifully by Mixcraft 5, but there was such a horrible delay from strike to sound that I had to use a different driver (can't for the life of me remember the name) that allowed Mixcraft direct access to the sound card, rather than through Windows sound driver. This causes Mixcraft to take over the sound card, so no other application can use it (YouTube, Media Player). Not a good way to go.

But I digress. The cable worked beautifully, so 5 stars. Windows, on the other hand, does not. This allows me to connect, but it is in a very limited fashion that is not the cables fault.
