This is for college students with .edu email 24 Sep 2010

I purchased this from Amazon and just received MS Office Pro Academic 2010 only to learn I must be a registered student with a .edu email address at an approved university or college. This should be clearly stated both on Amazon's page showing the product and on PC Universe's page about the product but neither makes any mention of any such requirement. The only place it shows, if at all, is on the tiny red square on the picture of the product. Merely to put the word Academic in the product title is insufficient.

Still Learning 12 Nov 2010
By Tom - Published on Amazon.com

I'm still learning the feature differences between Office 2007 and Office 2010. One thing I know for sure though is that the installation/activation process is not intuitive at all.

I purchased a new laptop that had Office 2010 Starter pre loaded. I installed Office 2010 and the icons for Word, Excel were place on my desktop and when I launched them everything was ok. When I attempted to launch Excel from Windows Explorer (double clicking the file), it launched Excel Starter version. I spent a lot of time researching and trying to determine how to launch the right program from Windows Explorer.

After a few weeks I finally uninstalled Office 2010 Starter to force it to use the full version of Excel but what happened was it launched a window that asked if I wanted to purchase the full version or did I already purchase a full version. I responded that I purchased a full version and had to "activate" it.

Upon activating, it began to launch the right version without any pop up windows. Bottom line is once the software is installed it requires activation as well.

The product arrived in excellent condition and the delivery time was very good.

I am enjoying learning MS Office 2010.
