5.0 out of 5 stars Very, very useful, 15 Sep 2005
By A Customer
If you are a student doing the MEI Mathematics A level then this is a must have. It is written by the people who set the specification for the exam so is very specific and up to date.

There are loads of practise questions along with answers and everything is explained very concisely. A must have for any maths student.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect, 18 Jun 2005
By A Customer
This book, because it's been specifically and exactly written for the MEI Structured Mathematics course, contains exactly that. If you're doing this course, the book is essential: it's at the correct level and of as similar a style as can possibly be given to the exam quesions (in theory) since it contains so many of them. The book starts from C1/C2 and builds you up to an A-Level standard gradually. The book, and indeed the whole suite of books, cannot be praised highly enough.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not a very good book, 1 Nov 2007
By R. TONDER (uk) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I've done my AS level maths under the Edexcel syllabus whilst studying at a college different from the one I'm in now. I have to say, I found the Edexcel set of Core Maths textbooks extremely good and whilst being an average - maybe slightly above average - student in Maths, I scored an A (a combined total of 280+ points out of a possible 300) in my AS Math exam... Now I'm doing the MEI syllabus using this MEI Maths textbook and I found it really difficult to follow... the way information in this book has been organised has not been very systematic/logical - for example, some stuff in chapter one really touches on stuff that you will learn later a few chapters on... and also, at many times I wished there were better and more examples provided in the book to help me understand some of the concepts (as my current math teacher isn't really all that helpful)... but this MEI textbook doesn't provide very good examples. I want to score an A again in my A2 exam hopefully, and am going to purchase the Heinemann (Edexcel) textbook for C3 even though I'm actually doing MEI syllabus.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good
Generally helpful, though i would prefer if it had the solutions for the 'show that' and 'prove' questions. it would make working through the exercises much simpler. Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars :(
This book was not very useful, a lot of the answers in the back are wrong and there are a lot of typing errors. There are definately better books for A2 maths.

5.0 out of 5 stars A level maths student
Absolute essential for this course. Written by the same people who write the exam, meaning you get a huge advantage from having this specific book rather than other generic "C#"... Read more
